   The waitress for our table was plain awful. Everything we asked her for we never got. We had to ask someone else. My steak sandwich arrived ice cold...I had to return it, then the waitress brought me back the mashed potatoes to eat while waiting for the steak...I returned that too and asked to bring potatoes back with the meal. The dessert was served with the sauces underneath the ice cream, doesn't the sauce belong on top of the ice cream. We were very disappointed in the food, especially the dumb waitress and her terrible service.

   This was our second time and we were not disappointed. Food and service were very good. We wish they had a quite area so you could carry on a conversation. Realizing it is a sports pub that may be difficult.

   I was disappointed with the table, as we took the time to make a reservation. We had a live tree hanging over the table a little. There was crumbs inbetween the slats of the table. Hard chairs instead of a comfortable booth. The server gave minimal service. The food was really good. The venue was nice.

   Usually food is better. Ribs overcooked, steak sandwich underwhelming, lettuce wraps served with a whole, limp a mini head of lettuce which was near impossible to wrap ingredients.

    Second time reserving with open table and second time when we arrive told that the high top table is not available even though we reserved one. It’s the only side you can play keno and pacific hold ‘em so that is why we have reserved a high top table. Remove the option from the reservation site or honor your reservations.

    Was my birthday celebration. The waitress who was new, did a excellent job , attentive , came around just at the right time for refills and so on. No complaints .

    When we arrived on time for our reservation we were told that even though I had requested high top table where we could play keno and pacific hold ‘em that the tables were reserved before ours and they couldn’t accommodate us at the table we had reserved. We ended up sitting at the bar and a very nice manager heard what happened and immediately offered us a table where we had requested. We were happy with service and food after that and enjoyed the football game and keno. If they can’t accommodate your request don’t make it an option on the app or contact us to say you can’t seat us as requested,

    We arrived early and were able to get in. Taken to a table and seated promptly. After order taken and delivered we had to ask twice for items. Once for ketchup and once for napkins. Service was good with a pleasant attitude . Meals were good. I had fish and chips and the fish could have been cooked a bit more. It tasted good and the cost was reasonable.

    Our seating arrangement for 6 was spacious, in a quiet atmosphere with good food and service. We 6 seniors, who are still nervous about our COVID risk, we’re quite comfortable and at ease with all pandemic protocols in place at Match.

    Our waitress was excellent. She was very patient while taking our orders and when one of our guests mentioned that the fries were on the cooler side, she promptly replaced them with new hot fries. The meal tasted great and the company was great! The only thing missing were the free entrees we used to get before the pandemic.

    Myself and our group of 9 persons were very pleased with everything. I must clarify a bit, we are a large group of retired Air Traffic Controllers, Our numbers are up to 16. We have been at Chances several times and we find it our favourite stop for our Wacky Wednesday endeavours. We are all senior persons and move our Wednesdays around the Valley. We will be back!

    Had the clubhouse and the turkey was a little too dry. Wasn't crowed and we didn't feel pressured to eat and leave. Staff was great,

    We have been regular patrons of Match Eatery in Courtenay ever since it opened but our visit on a October 20, 2021 was one of our best. Our server was very attentive, friendly and most efficient. We enjoyed our dinner very much. Thank you.

    Dillon was our server and he really made our anniversary special. Lovely young man. His choice of dessert for us was 5 star! The young girl that led us to our table was very nice as well, wishing us happy anniversary when we arrived and left!

    Our reservation was canceled due to the UFC fight, that was fine, three young servers at front were not friendly, took our # and said we had a half hour wait. Five minutes later our friend arrived and they cleared a table for them, forgot about us. The reason I’m writing this is our server was the worst we’ve ever had. Clerk #22 Saturday about 7pm, table across from the bar, red bow in her hair. She was rude, uninterested and didn’t refill our drinks as she quickly grabbed our empty glasses. No smiles and she was just annoyed with our presence and we were not difficult. Good was awesome and the only reason we would come back.

    Excellent salt and pepper wings. Perfect hot wings. The Mexican wings were a bit odd. Different. Waitress pleasant. Hostess looked glum and brought us to a table that hadn’t been cleaned. (Quickly dealt with however). Definitely will go again.

    Very varied menu with something for everyone. We specifically went for liver and onions which is not on their menu but seems to magically appear.

    I believe that the Match in Courtenay is the bets value for your money, food is always spectacular, great happy hour, staff are superb 100% for customer service. Please don't tell everyone> There will be no room at the inn!
