   Dan Diaz was a fantastic waiter he was knowledgeable, very attentive, and genuine. The food was great, I would recommend this location to anyone thinking of visiting.

   We celebrated Mother’s Day here and I ordered the chargrilled oysters as my appetizer. I told my husband, they tasted different to me. Sure enough, by the time I got home from having dinner@ the Whaling Station, my ordeal with my visits to the bathroom began. By the fourth time going to the bathroom, I finally asked my husband to buy me some Imodium. I did not stop going to the bathroom till 5:30am the next day. I called the Whaling Station and told them about my experience. As of this date, no one has called me about my condition. My husband paid over $200 for our Mother’s Day meal! So much for caring about your local patrons!?

   From the very start the service was excellent.. greeted as soon as we entered with a friendly smile. The service continued to be excellent and attentive…. But not over bearing… throughout our meal. The food was excellent… I had the Clam Chowder and the New York Strip . If you are in Monterey and want Steak…. This is definitely the place to go.

   Excellent food and flexible with substitutions for food intolerances. One of the best meals we have had in the Monterey area. Great prompt service.

   If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience and have a passion for the finest beef presented on a silver tray, along with a Caesar Salad tossed tableside, this is the place for you. I ordered a New York Strip steak, which was truly succulent. My friend and I enjoyed a delicious Bordeaux from their award-winning wine list and ordered dry martinis that were perfectly blended and chilled. The service was top-notch (thank you, Archie), and Matthew, the General Manager, stopped by several times to ensure we were having a delightful evening and dining experience. Thank you for an incredible meal and a lovely evening!

   The steaks were so yummy. One ribeye and one Cowboy rib. We could have shared one they were so big. The waiter was great. I had a gift certificate pre covid that was still valid and worth the original amount.

   This is the best steak house, everytime when come to town we have dinner here, our waiter Jose was great and so was everyone who took care of our table.

   This was our first experience at this establishment and to say it was frustrating is an understatement! We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation to see if they could accommodate us. We stood at the unattended host desk for approximately 3-5 minutes while multiple employees walked past us without acknowledging our existence. Once the host arrived we informed them that we were a bit early for our reservation and if they had availability to seat us that would be preferred. The host fumbled around for a bit to find the proper menus only to be missing the appropriate children’s menu for our 4 year old. I ordered the Cesar salad made table side but never was it made by the table. It arrived fully prepared. We ordered the filet medallions for my toddler which arrived about 45 min before our entrées. The waiter kept waking by the table and making up excuses for the long wait for our food but that didn’t provide much reprieve when our well behaved toddler began loosing his patience. When our entrées did arrive we barely had one to three bites when the waiter came by to offer us desert. My wife thought that the waiter was trying to buy us time with our toddler by providing them with something to entertain them while we tried to hurry up and consume our food. When we received the check the prices did not match the ones on the menu. The price of the Cesar salad was $1 off (in our favor) and the price of the children’s filet medallions was around $24 when the menu had them around $18. I did not challenge price discrepancy but instead paid for my meal and couldn’t leave fast enough. My wife and I were extremely disappointed with the entire experience and this will not be an establishment that we will visit again. Management needs to get their act together and do better.
