   Love, love, love Intermezzo! The have a wonderful inside dining room and bar, plus an inner courtyard that is very pleasant (even on cooler evenings) in addition to sidewalk tables. Staff always are fabulous and knowledgeable, drinks delicious and unusual, and the food is consistently good. The menu isn’t huge but we always find something for our varied palates (and dietary restrictions).

   We had a great time and a great meal. Went for a quiet dinner to avoid the madness of St. Patricks Day and was pleasantly surprised to find Irish Specials!! Well, when in Rome… and with an Irish owner on board, we ordered the Corned Beef and Cabbage along with the Shepards Pie and were not disappointed. Our waitstaff were friendly and fun and answered all of our annoying questions, mostly relating to life, history of the restaurant and other general needless topics. But they did so with great banter and ease. A wonderfully casual atmosphere with elevated comfort food on St. Patricks day, who could ask for more. I look forward to returning and to try some of the other menu items that read very well. Cheers

   Our go to place in Santa Barbara. Always great food and service! Intermezzo never disappoints… The NY Steak Frites is great… get it “John Way”!! Oysters Rockefeller and of course their pizza is the best in SB! Beautiful “wines by the glass” featuring multiple selections along with an extensive full wine list and creative cocktails. Ask for Sean to be your server. Just a really nice place.

   Always a great time at Intermezzo. Food, service and rock n roll vibe is consistently fantastic! The salmon is delish as is the Filet Mignon. Order a banana split for dessert… you won’t regret the calories!!

    Patio is closed for winter but indoors was equally nice. The food and service is always outstanding as are the drinks. The banana split for dessert is not to be missed. Best you'll ever have.

    My husband and I had an absolutely perfect evening, from start to finish! We celebrated our 18th anniversary — it was our first time dining at Intermezzo. It was EXACTLY what we wanted – thoughtful, attuned service, a great wine, selection, gourmet, but simple foods, and an upbeat, classy, but casual vibe. Our server, hostess & owner were so kind, hospitable & attentive — our table was decorated with rose petals, they served a delicious (complimentary) rose champagne to start, and checked in on us throughout. We felt like we were dining at a friend’s home - replete with amazing photos of iconic punk & rock music bands! We’ve found our new favorite spot whenever we come to SB!

    Support staff is fantastic, howeveronly one person actually waits tables (takes orders, brings checks). That makes the dining experience take a lot longer than needed, folks were waiting to have orders taken for quite some time. Restaurant should conifers have 1/2 more waiters available to assist the waiter when busy times arise. Otherwise it was top notch!

    We were seated at a high top in front of the fireplace in the bar area, had fabulous service and thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. Both the Shrimp and the clams were terrific as were the two sides we ordered- roasted carrots and asparagus.

    Outstanding. When you're treated as a welcomed guest by an experienced wait staff member who knows the in and outs of a sophisticated and still simple menu, you know you're in the right place. The filet and chicken were spot on, and the expansive wine menu made our evening one to remember. Thank you.

    Love that place but last night for Valentine’s Day the food took forever. We got seated at 7:30pm but we didn’t get our main course till about 9:15pm. Not sure what happened since other times it has been fine. I think we were the ones that had to wait the longest.

    Great food and fun atmosphere. Loved the vibe & background music. This place has something for everyone: 5 different seating areas: Classy yet fun romantic indoor section, outside patio (also romantic) hip bar area, private room for events & what I call the upscale Rock & Roll Room, which has walls adorned with professional pictures of bands. We sat in the rock ‘n’ roll room for our valentine day dinner. It was perfectly decorated for the day. We ran into some old friends who also shared the same excitement for this newly renovated SB landmark restaurant. As I told the owner, David, who says fancy can’t be fun? Just to be clear, it’s a fun, welcoming upscale place. Think SB causal. You feel like it’s a place where celebrities would hang out. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed. We can’t wait to sit in the patio once it gets warmer.

    Valentine’s Day dinner at Intermezzo was amazing!! We sat fireside in the newly reopened “Gold Room”… such a beautiful space. Our meal was delicious, beet salad, beef tartar, roasted chicken and filet mignon all perfectly cooked. The dessert were wonderful also. The place was packed so it took a little longer to get through the meal… but it was time well spent! Our server was great and made wonderful suggestions. We completely recommend Intermezzo for regular dining and special occasions like Valentine’s. Keep up the good work and thank you for making our night so special! And a beautiful rose for all the ladies!! Bonus!!

    First of all we tried Open Table to reserve a table and it was not possible even if it showed open times. After we called the restaurant and pointed it out to them, we could come. The place had plenty of open tables. We waited for our ordered drinks for 30 minutes. I asked for some bread after we placed our food order, because no dish was coming. Instead of the requested oil and vinegar, just butter came. I wanted the salt and pepper shaker and I received a small bowl with loose salt, because they didn't have a salt shaker. By the way regular cooking salt came, not even good coarse salt. We ordered one of the specials, the filet steak Mignon. The Mignon was served, we had it for 10 minutes on our table and still no side dish. We had to point this out after we chased down a server. The prices of this restaurant are $$$, therefore I was looking to have a wonderful birthday dinner with my friends. I left the restaurant and were very disappointed.

We were wildly busy Saturday with over 150 guests all seated during your visit with 1 bartender. I know timing is important in a dining experience, a minute can seem like an hour. Upon reviewing timestamps, I disagree with your timing, your drinks were ordered at 7:48 and arrived at 7:59, 11 minutes not 30. The side of fries 3 1/2 minutes after the Filet. We can do better. So sorry you didn't like our salt.

    The ambiance was lovely, the wine list is comprehensive, the food is excellent; the only thing that lets them down is the long wait for food. It took us nearly an hour to get our mains, and one we had to send back because it wasn't cooked as requested. The waiters were very apologetic but the kitchen needs to get their act together. Other tables were having the same problem.

    We had a wonderful meal. At 5 pm the restaurant was empty so the noise level was minimal but it wasn’t really a problem as the restaurant filled up. The staff was excellent.

    Dude Jake was amazing! They just opened the Gold Room and it gives Great Gatsby vibes. My girlfriend originally came because we heard they brought back their classic French onion soup. We got some oysters and Jake offered to pair each of our items with a wine pairing. We got the gambas and their pizza special of the evening. A smoked pineapple pizza. Managers Jamie and Russ both came and greeted us. The mezzo milkshake is super underrated, something about that coconut oil. We go to Mezzo so many times but this one was great. The gold room is everything.

    Nitid place. You can tell the preparations of the food are clean and made 100% from scratch. From de appetizers we got meet bolls, generous portion, 5 enough to share with very rich tomato, kind of marinara, homemade sauce with grilled sour bread… delicious. We had the gambas al agillo were great, and the Spicy Capacila piza… fantastic. Service was very good, the place is very comfortable we definitely will repeat

    So disappointed. We were really looking forward to our first visit to Intermezzo. Unfortunately, the service was on and off, had to track down waiter several times. The food was hit and miss. Several entrees not fully cooked. Flavors good but quality and prep lacking. We were there on a Saturday night but early sitting (530pm). Want to recommend this place but right now can’t see going back to try a second time. Spent a lot. The return was not close.

    Wonderful Saturday night at Intermezzo… place was packed and bumping with energy. My friend and I shared the “misty special” Filet Mignon and Shrimp! It was outstanding! We also shared a French Onion soup. It was the best we’ve ever tasted. We highly recommend Intermezzo. Just a really great place!

    The Soppressata pizza was outstanding! The steak bites to share were pretty good bc of the sauce but not the most tender meat. The atmosphere was also outstanding. Definitely worth a go!

    We never miss an opportunity to dine at Intermezzo when in SB. From the moment we were greeted by the hostess who kindly sat us at a different table to keep us away from a loud festive group to the kindness of the waiter who remembered us, a perfect dining experience. The pizza was exceptional, the filet too, great wine (particularly happy with the Sancerre half bottle!). Thanks for running such a consistent establishment!

    Popped in for a quick drink and ended having another amazing dinner. House made pappardelle with an Oxtail Ragu! Yum! My friend had a Filet “John’s Way” with blue cheese and asparagus. He said it was delicious. Highly recommend.
