We have been patrons of Barclay Prime for years. The service last night was slow and not very attentive. The staff was a little interruptive in trying to clean dishes away from the table before we were done eating. Several staff members keep interrupting the evening asking if they could clear plates when there was clearly food still to be eaten. We ordered drinks which did not come until we asked for the manager and told them. They did comp the drinks but it lead to a un-flowing experience when you are trying to fine dine. The food, when it arrived, was overly seasoned, too much salt and pepper which over took the taste of the food. Lastly, which I had not experienced in my prior visits was that the flow of food was not spaced properly and overlapped pushing us from appetizer/salads to main courses too quickly. In the past, Barclay Prime has been a mainstay for us and highly enjoyable experience, I am hoping this was just a bad night.

I’ve been very hectic with work lately, ran ragged, stressed and looking for relief from all that. Sunday at 5:30 I found that relief at Barclay prime overlooking an A5 Japanese Strip loin. I also had the “ off menu “ north Michigan (imported)full blooded Japanese cattle - filet mignon and cause I was feeling crazy I even got a regular ribeye cap. After the first bite of the Omi Japanese strip loin I had chills run down my body and the hair on my arms stood up, I could’ve walked out of there happy in that very moment but I was lucky enough to still have more options on the table. I ask for the check, handed my card to the waiter without even looking at the total because in that moment, I didn’t care what the price was because i just had my best meal in 2025 so far. Also, the Hamachi Crudo was a great appetizer to really get the taste buds jumping.

we moved out of the city over 10 years ago and haven’t been to Barclay prime in such a long time and decided to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary back in the city where we met. Definitely as good as we remember it if not better… It was the best choice to celebrate. Service was excellent. Food was amazing, ambience and vibe of the restaurant is just beautiful and top-notch .

Top notch experience from start to end. Steaks were phenomenal and perfectly prepared. The quality of the food was only surpassed by the amazing service.

The service and food was beyond. Overall, I had an amazing experience for my birthday dinner. Definitely would highly recommend, especially for a special occasion.

Hands down the best steakhouse I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot. The cheesesteak is perfect as well.

I try to come here whenever I’m in Philly and the service is always great but Eddie really stood out this trip! He’s a self proclaimed foodie and had all the best recommendations! After cocktails and caviar he recommended we share the lamb chops (cooked to perfection), and the sole (also very delicious). He recommended the perfect dinner wine and we had Irish coffees and the cheesecake for dessert. He didnt miss on anything! Thanks Eddie! 😁

Matthew was knowledgeable and great. The salmon and truffle mac and cheese were among the highlights, but a wonderful menu over all. Everyone was helpful and welcoming!
