Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks and a great burger. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12. Any night of the week, Bar Mezzana welcomes with a thoughtful wine list, delightful cocktails, delicious food and friendly staff!

    First time here in a while...everything was great and on the whole, not outrageously expensive. The service was friendly and professional. Portions are suitable for sharing without feeling stuffed - this lets you try multiple offerings. Obviously very popular for many years for a reason!

    My husband and I dine at Bar Mezzana regularly. We love the experience from beginning to end. The waitstaff are extremely knowledgeable on every aspect of the menu and their recommendations are always spot on. The chefs and sous chefs are the best in the city and the food sourcing is farm to table with each dish presenting terroir all the way through.

    Went there with friends who were visiting from out of town. They heard good things about the place and so did we. We were all very disappointed. I suspect the biggest issue is the manager. The table was overloaded with dirty dishes, and the servers weren’t checking in. Twice we had to remove dishes to put them on the table next to us because as they were bringing additional dishes, they left the dirty ones on our table. You’d assume they would realize after the first time. Instead, the second time we had to do it, the manager came and made passive-aggressive comments about needing to keep other tables clean. She should’ve been managing properly by asking her staff to clean tables, not being passive-aggressive towards customers. Customer service at its best. The food quality was okay at best. The eggs for the Benedict and the shakshuka were extremely overcooked. And it’s not like the restaurant was even busy for them to not be paying attention. Won’t be coming again and will tell friends and family to avoid this place.

    Outstanding meal as always; the fluke crudo was next level, and the hazelnut flourless cake was worth feeling like we may never have to eat again in our lives. Always a great meal and experience!
