Upstairs is the raw bar with plenty of oysters, snacks, cheese and seafood to accompany beer, wine or cider. Of course, oysters are also available on the dining room main level. Oysters and other seafood can be served in many different ways. At L & E Oyster Bar, a few are well covered, including raw, steamed, smoked, grilled and fried. For example, the smoked mussels or smoked trout salad are very popular choices, as are the grilled oysters in South Carolina mustard BBQ sauce with crispy cipollini. L & E Oyster Bar doesn�t leave out the landlubbers who will enjoy the burger or the steak frites, a 10-ounce NY prime that was free range, grass fed.

L&E is a wonderful place to get together with a small group. The food menu options are just enough for some to share and the drink menu was also nice with different craft beer choices. I enjoyed Happy Hour before having dinner and the 90's R&B/Hip Hop was also a bonus with family/friends I had not seen in sometime. I will definitely look forward to coming back to L&E.

Eat outside - it's too noisy in. The menu is short and to the point - I personally like that as everything on it is obviously carefully thought out. Wine is V v expensive. Lucky teetotallers. I would definitely go again - it's not too annoyingly hip for squares, thank God.

My friend had the west coast oysters and gave rave reviews. I had the asparagus salad and bronzino. I left still hungry. The $ 32.00 very small grilled fish came with no veggies or potato. The wedge salad came with two wedges....but the server never told us there were two wedges -- we could have shared. My other friend had the salmon, and it came with a large mixed green salad, after he had already ordered the wedge salad. Server did not do a good job of explaining what came with each plate, or what did not come with each plate. Was not a good value for the money. Might come back for expensive oysters only.

Best place in LA for oysters. great variety of Pacific and Atlantic, from briny to buttery, and a wined list tuned to the food. The fired oysters are nearly perfect - you'll want more.

This place is an enigma for my wife and I. We want to like it but it won't let us. Oysters are very good but that's about it. My steak sandwich was a bit chewy and her salmon was about maybe 5 oz yet cost $28. Plus they charge for plain facet water w/o telling you. Whatever fund that money goes for, I think its only fair they ask you before hand if you want to contribute. Charging for plain water is wrong period. Doing it without you know it makes it even worse IMO. For the money I think there are far better places to eat.

Restaurant was empty but server wanted to save better tables for possible walk-ins at 9 on a Wed nite. Nothing looked good on the sparse menu after that and $30 for a dozen oysters seems like a terrible value.

One of the best oyster places in Los Angeles - I try and go a little early or late since it can get a bit noisy. I'm still not sure why people find it necessary to scream and yell while dining.

We met friends and family on two occasions in one week. The oysters are so fresh and delicious. Soft Shell Crab was on the menu when we visited. What a treat! Desserts are really good, especially the flourless brownie. Whenever we return to Los Angeles L & E will be on our itinerary. Oh, a shout out to the awesome service by our waitress!

Great spot for oysters, vey fitting considering the name. Loved it tho, I'm a westsider and made the trek East and was pleasantly surprised with all of the options and how fresh the oysters were. Best selection of oysters I've had in LA.

My boyfriend picked this spot to take me out for my birthday. Neither of us had been here before. We were seated right away in the lovely patio area downstairs. Our server was wonderful and gave us just enough time to make up our minds about what we wanted to order. We decided on the daily dozen, smoked trout salad, oysters L&E, and the special of the night steak carpaccio. Honestly, everything was so delicious. I loved it all! The complimentary hush puppies were also so tasty. We had the poached pear parfait for dessert which was a nice finish to a fantastic meal. I would highly recommend L&E Oysters to everyone (I've already told a few friends) and I can't wait to go back

Been wanting to try this place out as it's local in the neighborhood. It's a quaint little place. Food was good. Our server was excellent. Very sweet & helpful. Oysters...were...oysters. I'm spoiled at having much bigger & meatier ones, not like little dainty ones we had. It's not like they advertised that & I'm not complaining as it's what I expected. They were good for what they were. We had the "clam chowder" which was great with the sourdough bread & "the knife & fork fried oyster po’boy" which was very tasty indeed. They give you a generous portion of well made, crispy french fries. It was washed down with "Steam Beer". Dessert was the "bourbon pecan pie" which comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Very crisp crust. It was awesome. The place was dimly lit... great for a romantic night out or well deserved date night. Overall a great experience.

Kudos to the very fresh and exquisite oysters! I was surprised when the waitress offered to place our sparkling wine bottle in the frig instead of bringing an ice bucket table side, really? A $65.00 bottle of cheap sparkling wine deserves an ice bucket to say the least. The herb baked whole fish was good but over salted. Why use fresh herbs and drown the fresh fish with salt? The pecan pie was great but no coffee/tea service for a $250.00 meal for two adults and a child? I was able to get a great cup of coffee across the street though. LA has other great spots for oysters!
