Step back in time as you enter Gibbys, housed in a magnificent 200-year-old building in Old Montreal. This charming restaurant which boasts historic stone walls, original beamed ceilings and cozy fireplaces, all combine to make dining at Gibbys a memorable experience.

Experience the finest seafood, fresh sumptuous chilled oysters, large choice of the freshest fish, and Gibbys’ expertly aged delectable steaks, cooked to perfection. We lavish our guests the moment we seat them, with complimentary oven fresh bread, crunchy dill pickles, croutons and bacon crumble.     The one and only. Always enjoyable especially with company. The service was impeccable as always. The atmosphere was as charming as always. On this day though, the AC wasnt working Optimally, it was hot and humid and uncomfortable. What made it ok though was the service and the tolerance the server had.

    There was no air conditioning and nobody warned us. It was 30 degrees!The sorbet was melted and we couldn’t breathe. No effort like a discount or free drink was offered. Really disappointing.

    Solid steakhouse experience! The steak was cooked to perfection and the service was top-notch. However, be prepared for a hefty price tag and sweltering heat - the AC seemed to be on vacation. Overall, worth a visit, but if going during July/August heat waves dress light and bring a fan." 4/5 stars.

    Our wait staff was impeccable and kind, helping us with recommendations and checking in often to refill our wine glasses and bread. The food and wine were excellent, and even though there was a mistake made on our order, they fixed it right away. Also, and this is not the fault of Gibby’s, but there were two large parties in our dining hall that were incredibly loud, so loud that the smaller parties had trouble hearing each other. To make matters worse, every other word from one of those parties was a curse word, and after awhile it got old. But what can ya do? Anyway, Gibby’s itself is a wonderful place with lots of history and the folks that work there are top notch.

    Malgré une panne de climatisation,les serveurs ont su garder leurs sourires et leurs dévouement envers les clients. Ils faisaient vraiment très chaud. Un gros merci .

    My wife had the cornish game hen with full loaded potato, asparagus, and nice demi-glace. The hen was well seasoned and cooked just right. I had the 3 lobster tails. which were cooked to perfection with baked potato and asparagus.. What is nice here is that they serve you a nice baguette, pickles, and, your meals include a wedge or Gibbiy's tossed salad. Followed by a nice lemon/ lime sorbert to clens your palate before your main course. The service q is exceptional. Been coming here for years and always looking forward to going back whenever we are in Montreal.
