Potente is where elegance meets energy in the heart of downtown Houston. Whether you're here for a celebratory dinner or cocktails at the lounge, we combine luxury with a lively atmosphere. Expect rich flavors, beautifully plated dishes, and a vibe that feels indulgent.

Led by Chef Danny Trace, every dish uses the highest quality ingredients and when possible, we source locally. Our truffle pasta was featured as “One of the Best Pastas in the Country” by the Food Network.

We have also been listed as “One of the Most Romantic Restaurants in Houston” by Eater Houston, the Houstonia and Thrillist, as well as one of the “Best Date Night Spots” by the Houston Chronicle and "One of the Most Romantic Bars to Impress Your Date in Houston.”

Join us before or after an Astros game at our bar and lounge. We are just steps away from Daikin Park. Astros gear is permitted on game days only.

    We really enjoyed our evening at Potente. The food was delicious and the staff very accommodating. This ranks as one of our favorite restaurants in all of Texas.

    Overall, an outstanding experience. All was amazing except the noise but I attribute that to the table of 3 guys next us. For us, Potente is top 3 in Houston, possibly the best.

    Fantastic experience Had challenges with arrival time of some of my guests (client), but the restaurant staff was SUPER cool about it. Wine selection was good & the food was fabulous. Our server knew the menu very well & he made excellent suggestions. Sometimes people are unsure of what to order so suggestions are really appreciated. We split the the famous truffle spaghetti & they portioned it out for the 4 of us. I can't wait to go back!

    The branzino was ok but was a small portion, the taste was good but it was sitting in vegetable juices making it a bit soggy.
