Hidden away in the Bywater neighborhood, The Country Club offers an elegant escape from everyday living. Our beautiful restaurant and bar deliver exquisite food and drink in sophisticated surroundings. We offer chef-driven cuisine inspired by Italian-French and Creole-Southern heritages. Our incredible menus by Chef Chris Barbato, formerly of Commander’s Palace, has all the foodies talking. Our award-winning wine program features more than 140 bottles from 13 countries and its very own private label wines. You MUST be 21 or over to dine with us. Some outdoor seating is available. If you would like to request outdoor seating, please do so when you arrive. We often book up for Drag Brunch in advance, HOWEVER, we have additional seating available via phone only. Call 504-945-0742 to book those additional seats. Also, as people cancel reservations they immediately become available online, so be sure to check back often. We booked drag brunch at The Country Club in advance because we’d heard it was one of the best in New Orleans. The venue is beautiful. What was once a historic home has been transformed into a series of dining rooms connected by a central bar, and the staff runs everything with impressive efficiency. From check-in to drink orders to the arrival of our food, everything moved smoothly. The drag show itself starts about 30 minutes after you’re seated, which is just enough time to settle in, get your food and drink, and take in the space. We were seated in a side dining room, and it’s helpful to know that the queens rotate from room to room, one at a time, throughout each set. That means there are moments when the energy of the show fills your room—and moments when you’re simply enjoying a meal with friends to the soundtrack of high-energy music. (And yes, the music is loud, but that’s part of the fun.) The performers were upbeat, engaging, and fun, with the kind of variety you expect in any good drag show—some queens were more polished than others, but everyone brought spirit and sparkle. This isn’t a comedy-heavy or narrative performance like you might find at a late-night bar show; it’s a joyful, lip-sync-forward experience that fits perfectly with the brunch setting. All in all: good food, fun atmosphere, strong drinks, and a celebratory vibe. I’d recommend it to friends visiting New Orleans—especially if they want to do something festive and fabulous on a Sunday morning.

We went to the Drag Brunch and it was one of the highlights of our trip! The ambiance, performances and food were all incredible. Well worth going, and absolutely worth the hype.

Food was amazing. Music was energetic. The performers could have been more entertaining. Seems they walked into the room collected money then left. Not too entertaining with singing and dancing.

I was disappointed. Drag show was boring most of the time, mostly lip syncs, barely any comedy. Food was also boring, comparing to what we get in NOLA. Not bad, just not that good for what they charge. Dessert was an enormous disappointment, it looked (and tasted) like a Walmart-bought chocolate popsicle.

Completely underwhelming. We were excited to go here and so disappointed that the waitstaff, kitchen and bar could care less that we were here. The waiter did the absolute minimum for service and not even close to fine dining. The drinks were completely boring- my husbands lemongrass specialty cocktail tasted like nothing. The cauliflower was okay but the crab beignets (supposedly a specialty) tasted like battered mush and the chicken dish over polenta, with what I’m guessing was semi rehydrated mushrooms, was so clearly just thrown on a plate. I know I sound like a B right now but it was a real bummer on date night. Won’t be back and would have liked to do the drag brunch. Maybe that would have camouflaged the menu?

Drag brunch was awesome! So much fun! They were also very accommodating, we had our suit cases with us which they held on to and were quick to grab them when we had to leave early for the airport!

This is a lovely place to dine. Service is always excellent. Crab bignets were excellent. The redfish was very good, though the servings were somewhat smaller than expected. There was a new cocktail menu that did not disappoint. Definitely recommend giving it a try.
