Pleasant first visit. The onion soup and house filet were very good (the house filet pretty heavy on the sauce). Bread pudding good as well. Attentive service from Sara.
Everything was awesome
Went for Sunday brunch. One of the three meals was outstanding. The other two were very lackluster. They were not particularly busy but each meal was a different temperature and two were over cooked but served cool. Very noisy. Disappointing for $160.
Beautifully restored old house with New Orleans jazz playing sets up a throwback experience in personalized, non-chain dining. Traditional menu with fresh ideas and updated presentations. Impeccable service, in house made desserts with interest touches, creative bar fare- what more could you want? Not outrageously expensive but most likely a special occasion place for most of us. Treat yourself and decide for yourself.
This is a great place for special occasions. The food was perfectly cooked and tasted great. They have a good selection of wines, and the service was excellent.
We came to college station for the Texas A&M and Ole Miss Football game. Found this restaurant on open table so decided to try it. It was very good. I loved the Brie, and peach chutney appetizer.
The service is always fabulous! The food is the very best of selection, freshness and taste.
The dining experience is normally perfect IF your table is in one of the smaller rooms on the original restaurant side. However, the add-on, beautifully decorated, red walled room is way noisy and impossible to carry on a nice, quiet conversation.
I hate to give a rating of lower than 5 because we love dining here. Perhaps the Friday night we dined Ilona a football weekend was unusually crowded but maybe the rooms acoustics could to tweaked to soften the noise.
Always our go-to spot for special occasions! There's no other place in the area we will even consider. Food, service, and atmosphere are perpetually flawless!
My girlfriend and I came here for a nice date and we couldn’t have had a better time! I had been before but she had not, the experience however was just as refreshing for me as it was impressive for her. Everything was amazing, not a negative aspect of our evening.
We loved our visit to Christopher's. Everything was very nice. Atmosphere is very cozy. Our steak was the most tender we have ever had. The dessert selection was also wonderful. You will have to try their new peppermint cheesecake.
Yesterday we attended to celebrate a 40th birthday. Typically our experience is stellar at Christopher’s. However, our experience yesterday was less than satisfactory. 3 of the 4 people at our table ordered lobster tails and all three of them were over cooked. We brought it to the waiters attention and he said he could tell by looking at them they were over cooked and would bring it to the chefs attention. They comped is for all three of them. I ordered the snapper and it had bones in it. We ordered the house filet to go and asked for it to be gluten free. The order was not prepared gluten free. I was told they would sub the creamer spinach for sautéed spinach but received creamed spinach so I can’t eat it. It also included the fried crawfish tails that I also cannot consume.
Outstanding food and outstanding service! Can't wait to go back.
Enjoyed our evening immensely. Our server, David, was fantastic. Our meal exceeded our expectations. Delightful cuts of meat. Not tough in the slightest bit. Generous portions.
The food is always outstanding. The filet is so delicious. The stuff seafood mushrooms were yummy. The peach cobbler cheesecake is fabulous. The service was fantastic. College Station is so lucky to have this restaurant!
Very, very good food. Great presentation and very creative. The kind of place you want to go into the kitchen and get all of their recipes. We will be going back again and again.
Great place, where it all started with me proposing to my lovely wife of 5yrs. Great place for romantic anniversary.
Tremendous and memorable! Service was fantastic and the food was outstanding from appetizers to desert!
Food was awesome and Kasey was wonderful, informative & attentive. We will definitely go back
As always the service was extraordinary. The food was excellent. Early on the ambiance is pleasant but later as the dining room filled the background conversations became excited and noticeable. My guest was also very pleased with the dining experience. Thank you, Christopher's.
My 18 year old grandson and I enjoyed a wonderful brunch and declare the bengets are better than the ones we had at Cafe duMonde in New Orleans....we'll be back to enjoy them again!
Thoughtfully prepared menu. Great portion sizes. Amazing location. Delightful service. Every time we go to Christopher’s we love it more.
Our meal was outstanding with a great bottle of wine. The wine selection was fantastic. Rachael was our server and was very dedicated to making our evening outstanding. We both agreed that it was one of the best meals we have had in several years!
My wife was 100% pleased; I less so. We have been coming to this restaurant for at least 15 years. Most recently for brunch (10/21/18). We both had the eggs benedict. My wife loved hers (along with a Caesar salad). My eggs, however, were overcooked (not runny as they should be) and the whole dish (rosemary potatoes -- ugh!) seemed somehow "tired." Indeed, for my taste, the whole menu is in need of a major update. Maybe that's why the restaurant was way less than half-full when we went at 1:00 p.m. on a beautiful Sunday. The waiter, however, was the best we have ever had there. In the past, 100% of the time, there was the "upsell" as soon as you sat down (Always: "Is this a special occasion?"). Happily not this time -- just a pleasant, efficient, non-aggressive waiter. He got a very good tip. Bottom-line: My wife loved her meal; I did not. I think Christopher's needs a new menu for brunch.
After eating at restaurants around the world it is truly refreshing and amazing to find a world class restaurant here locally.
Overall excellent but not perfect. Rain and lower temperatures kept us all indoors. The service was excellent and pleasant. The decor sophisticated. The ambience kinetic. The complementary hors d'oeuvre and breads were outstanding. The room temperature was on the cool side. I'd recommend a sport coat for the gentlemen and a sweater for the ladies. The noise level was noticeable. I enjoyed the Mrs. Pham’s Vietnamese Egg Roll starter and later the Vegetable Plate main course all of which was tasty but crowded on the plate. Mine was a enjoyable experience. I'm sure to return.
this was recommended as on eof the best in Bryan. the ambiance was nice the staff very attentive and the request for an intimate table was very nice.
The food (lunch) left a lot to be desired. As a 40+ year food professional I was very disappointed and the value was not appropriate.
the house tapenade was very nice, the bread selection just average.
the caesar was 9.95 should have been 6.95. the carmelized bacon was good but the dressing and cheese were lacking especially for the price.
the snapper my quest ordered was said to be good but the presentation of seasonal vegetables of mashed potatoes and sweet potato appeared to be more to fill the plate than to compliment the fish which was crowded by these piles of starch.
the shrimp cream bisque was all cream and little if any shrimp flavor and no visible shrimp. the consistency was excellent but the lack of flavor and shrimp was very disappointing.
my main was the 29.95 6oz filet, a 'signature' dish ordered medium rare. It was med. rare in the interior but the exterior was so overdone that it was dry and burned to a crisp. the bed of spinach had little moisture and appeared to have been sitting under a heat lamp for some time. the 'shrimp' were tastelss over fried and scant. the seasonal vegetables were not crisp as oven roasted potatoes and gave all the appearance of having been prepped earlier in the day. I admit we were seated at the end of the lunch hour 1p with a cutoff of 2p but that shouldn't have mattered for a restuarant of this nature and reputation. the wine selection was broad and again, the staff was attentive but the kitchen needs help. certainly not where I would spend $135 again for lunch.
Gray food but a little pretentious atmosphere no felt that they were trying to hard.
We have dined at Christopher's several times for birthday and anniversaries. We live in a rural part of TX and drive an hour each way for the experience. We have never been disappointed. The food is great and the service impeccably good.
Made our anniversary memorable! Outstanding service and menu options. Spent 2 hours enjoying the food and ambiance.
There’s nowhere to find better food anywhere. There’s other restaurants and then there’s Christopher’s.
Exquisite meal with a very attentive staff this popular place uphold its reputation. The venue has a classy feel old-school with a modern day twist.
Our server was Awesome as was the food!
Everyone was very friendly, not a stuffy place at all, except for maybe some of the customers!
Food and atmosphere great! Noise level a little loud in large banquet room (high ceiling). Waiter not quite as focused and attentive this time. Waiter needs to cut the phase: “Are you enjoying all this great food and everything is just great ... I know you’re enjoying it”. He should be asking what they can do to better serve you and ask the guests about ‘quality’; not try and influence a positive response. However, he did provide a little restaurant history to our first time quests and make a nice wine suggestion. This guy just needs a little more professional training to come across sincere.
The service staff was amazing, as they always are at Christopher's. And the food was delightful, always something so new and savory, as well as items from the past (like the walnut apple salad) that are always done so very well. Presentation was just beautiful, and unique. My only complaint at all is that it can get quite loud in the space if someone doesn't know how to use an inside voice (and it seems some boisterous Ags came in from a football game), which put a damper on our quiet romantic dinner. Just an unfortunate quirk of the space not having good sound-dampening, I think. Next time we will maybe try not going on a football day. (I mean that's a problem you'd run into anywhere in this town, so no reflection on Christopher's.)
We visit this restaurant when we are in town. As usual the food and service were first class. Our only concern was that it was very noisy. We had a hard time hearing our server and each other. Before we had a table in one of the small rooms and the noise level was fine. This time we were in one of the large rooms.
We live in Dallas and eat out daily. Christopher’s is as good or better than any in Dallas. Our server was outstanding, and that is such an important part of an evening. Thank you!
This was the best! Loved the piano music and fun staff and atmosphere.
This restaurant came highly recommended. It was a busy Friday night and we had reservations, were seated promptly. The waiter took our drink order and seemed to be in a rush to get our dinner selections. We had not been there before and wanted some time with the menu. In addition, we would have liked to perused over our drinks but they were delayed. He did give us some time after we made that request (twice). We had two seafood dishes which were excellent. Unfortunately the veal shank with papperadelle was disappointing; the meat was over cooked/well done and the pasta was very firm and clumped together .
Otherwise a nice meal.
The food and the service was outstanding. One of the best experiences I’ve had. Will definitely go back plenty of times.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Christopher's. Our goal was to eat at a very nice restaurant that was quiet. It was perfect and then some. The atmosphere is very luxurious. The waiter was extraordinary and the food was divine! A wonderful experience all around!
