Got the price fixe menu for Restaurant week. The portions were so generous, eggplant parmigiana and calamari frittata for appetizers, delicious! Salmon with a beet vinaigrette was amazing and spicy pork chop. Perfection and some cheesecake for dessert, Warm and inviting, nice music, excellent service

First time visiting this restaurant since the name change. We were delighted with the new menu items, as well as seeing many previous favorites. Everything was delicious! We had a table on the patio and it was delightful, comfortable, relaxed and very pleasant! The service was friendly, professional, attentive (without being oppressive), and very efficient. We had a wide variety of different dishes....small plates, salads, entrees, fish, meat and pasta. Every dish was excellent and everyone really enjoyed their meals! In all, I can highly recommend South Bay! We will be back!

We were a party of 6. Two of us ordered the halibut and independently we each took one bite and put our forks down. It was extremely fishy tasting; not fresh at all. We did not send it back but when they collected our plates we told them. Without asking it was graciously removed from our bill. I would have rather had fresh fish. Ordered a tequila & soda and got straight tequila/no soda 🤷‍♀️. Have been here before and it has been much better. Will come back for drinks but not so sure about dinner.

We recently dined here and I’m sorry to say it was a really poor experience. -Service was incredibly slow (it took 45 mins to bring our drink orders of wine & scotch?) despite plenty of servers and bartenders visibly working that night. -Food was equally as disappointing. We ordered a Margherita pizza to start and I swear it was just a frozen cheese pizza out of a box from CVS. There was no mozzarella or basil, just plain cheese. It was soggy and unappetizing. Only upside I’d say is the ambiance. Lots of families, however we ended up chatting with tables on either side of us who were equally as appalled with their experience. We were there on what was clearly a busy night which I am sure drove these issues. Safe to say we won’t be returning.

Made a reservation for inside. At first, they told us we had to sit outside. That got figured out. Drinks were slow to come and when served, were incomplete. Food was average and unimaginative. The best thing was the Brussel Sprout Salad. Not accommodating for a request of half a glass of wine when all of the other restaurants in the area provide them. Will not return. Lots of much better options in the area to choose from and these guys should know better. BTW, I never leave review comments but wanted to express our dissatisfaction.

Yet another good meal at 55. Their seafood papperdelle and scallops with risotto cakes dishes are simply delicious. They also have a nice wine list with amazing discounts on their slower days.

The salad we had was decent. We sat in the bar and it was really loud and packed with people. We waited for our entrees for an hour and a half and finally had to ask them bring us our bill. We asked them To remove the charges for the entrees and they did. I would Not recommend this restaurant unless You are interested in a happening bar scene.

We usually love it here but the food didn't taste too good on this night. We are regular customers and usually very happy here. The hanger steak did not have much taste and the sauce was not good- used to have chimchurri sauce which is great. ALso gren beans did not have much taste

Food was delicious. Service was very slow. They were short staffed. It was 15 minutes before we were even spoken to after being seated. If we went back when they were properly staffed I know it would be a totally different experience.

The three steaks were cooked well done as well as the hamburger. 4 out of the 6 meals were not good. The side dish of Brussels sprouts lacked any flavor.. My husband’s cocktail of the Sicilian Manhattan was a 2oz pour with a big block of ice. There is definitely room for improvement. It would be a shame that this is the best they can do. I would like to think it was an off night.

This dinner was the conclusion of our Valentine's Day celebration, which ended up to be a good choice. We were first seated near the bar, but asked to be moved upstairs. There are three levels and if you are looking for romance/intimacy, make sure to be seated on one of the top two levels. Our server was GREAT. He was funny, engaging and helpful.

Overall we enjoyed our dinner. The appetizer was hands down the best thing we ate all night, but the entrees were a little lacking in flavor. The wine list was fantastic, and for that alone we will be back.
