Been going to the Fez for years. This was an excellent restaurant when it first opened and was for years. Noticed a decline in quality of Food and service about 6 months ago and recently went back during restaurant week hoping it was back to the Fez I knew and loved. Sadly it was worse. Unapologetically slow and indifferent service. Portions smaller than they used to be and food quality not nearly as good. Don't even get me started on the slow to come and weak cocktails. I guess this explains why it was near empty on a Friday night. You used to need reservations to get near Fez on a weekend. So sad to write this review. I fear this place is not long for the ultra competitive downtown Stamford scene. Godspeed Fez, we hardly knew ye.

Loved loved the food. That's why we go right? But also the ambience is a factor when you go out for dinner on a Friday night... and it was severely lacking. It smelled like a college bar. The lighting was harsh and uneven and the worst thing was suffering through the loud "music". It is called Fez and the food is inspired by Morocco... so why did we have to spend over an hour listening to music that sounded like the soundtrack to a 1970's movie chase scene? The entire time it did not ch age and the volume was way too high. We asked if there was another choice for "background music" and the waiter said he would see but did nothing. The food is memorable but the scene itself is not. We will order it in next time.

We basically had the restaurant to ourselves. The starter dishes were amazing including the pork chops. We had a nice selection of wines that were reasonably priced, we went at the right time were and the wine was at half price.

The Fez is a lovely restaurant in downtown Stamford. The décor really captures that middle eastern feel. The menu is fantastic all of the traditional food from that region. I really loved that there were Vegan items on the menu. My husband is not Vegan so usually one of us has to sacrifice when it comes to choosing a restaurant. But not at the Fez t the food was delicious and there was something for everyone!

First time at The Fez and was thoroughly impressed with the food. Great options. Many small plates that could be shared. Excellent opportunity to enjoy a different type of food. Would highly recommend.

The food here is super tasty, especially the Grilled Chicken "Lollipops" and the Harissa Chicken. The ambiance has a hint of the exotic, although it can get a bit noisy. Food and wine are also fairly priced.

The food is delicious, the ingredients are fresh and creatively presented. The menu is large and varied. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. We dined early (6pm) and it was quiet, but they have live music a couple of evenings a week and the dining area is not large, so I imagine it could be loud under those circumstances.

Great food at The Fez. It's a small space, though, and when it's full the noise level is high. Wait staff is very attentive and always good for a suggestion on the menu, be it food or wine.

We were a group of 7 trying the FEZ for the first time, we all enjoyed it. Our group was over 50 so when the band started it got a little loud for us, but we really enjoyed the food, the unique atmosphere and our corner table.

I took my boyfriend there for his birthday lunch. That was our second time from about 4 years ago. The service was great and we enjoyed the food. I had the Salmon sandwich and it was absolutely delicious!!!

The food was fair - the grilled octopus and lamb shank were very good. The meatball and lamb tagines were not very good and the babaganoush appetizer was fair. We are fans of Moroccan food and leave didn't quite meet the level of expectation. Of course we are basing it on travel to Morocco and our own Moroccan cooking. The tables are crowed together. They seated us at a table for four right near the bandstand where they were setting up for entertainment. We left before they actually started or it would have been crazy for them to literally be on top of us.

Reliable and excellent food, half-price wine on Mondays was great, and service was perfect. Particularly loved the caramelized cauliflower and the chicken lollipops. Nothing but good things to say about every visit to The Fez.

I have been to Fez before but this time the food was not updo mark. The grilled chicken lollipops were really not good. The drink was, not good ..I loved the food when I came earlier so I would may be try it oNE more time but would not recomend it to anyone again til I'm happy.

Everything was great until the music started. We were a table of 4 on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was empty. At 8:30 a guitarist started playing. It was very loud and did not compliment the Moroccan theme. I would have preferred some soft background Moroccan music.

Very good Moroccan food...from the appetizers - we shared the baba ghanoush and the roasted cauliflower to the entrees - the lamb tangine and the chicken kabob platter, everything was fresh, authentically seasoned and well prepared.

We last dined at this place more than a year ago and we liked it a lot then. This time the experience wasn't the same. While the food was OK, it was the service that was disappointing. On top of it they charge 20% gratuity (we were 4 adults and 2 kids) for a service that didn't exist. I wouldn't have given anything more than 15%. Wouldn't be coming back here nor recommend this place.

Service was atrocious. There was three people and two were hanging out at the bar while one waited on all the tables. The food was really good however the service ruined the expereince for us. Would I come back? probably not- there's probably better outside of Stamford, however for hardcore stamford foodies this might be a real delight.

Thoroughly enjoyed dining at The Fez. This was the Pre-Fixe Palace Theatre menu and everything was delicious. We ordered the butternut squash and the vegetable tagine and would definitely do so again. The service could have been better as I had to call for someone to clear the table and bring dessert so we could get to the theater on time. I do plan to go back as there are other things on the menu that sound very tempting. Would (and have!) recommend this restaurant to my friends.
