Founded in 2013, Capitol Cider is a two-story restaurant, full bar and arts venue located in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Capitol Cider is the country’s largest independent cider bar. It offers more than 170 hard ciders on tap and in bottles w/ four cider flights daily. Additionally there are 10 taps of craft beer, gluten-free beer, and craft cocktails. Dark paneling, a master copy collection of famous paintings, old books and period architectural elements create a warm and inviting ambiance.     Capitol Cider exceeded all expectations! I am a first time visitor to Seattle with Celiac disease. It was heaven to be able to order anything on the menu! I had the fish and chips and cheesecake. I have never had gluten free fried fish so flaky and wonderful! The french fries were perfect too. Service was excellent and ambiance cozy. I highly recommend Capitol to everyone. Those of you who aren't gluten free will never miss a thing!!

    My 2nd visit & unfortunately not as good as the 1st Ordered The Simple breakfast with a side of fried chicken thigh, eggs over easy. What was described on the menu is not what I received on my plate. The eggs were super runny, the potatoes looked like hush puppies on my plate. Not one was smashed, almost like the chef was too lazy to smash a potato. The chicken thigh was flattened, didn't even look like a thigh, I believe they use the chicken thighs that are premade for the biscuit and gravy dish. Again, my imagination is going towards a chef, being lazy and using premade thighs instead of making a normal one for a different dish. Our server was also lacking, barely came by the table, took her forever to clear dishes, and bring us supper checks.

    Was looking for a place with Gluten free options and this place is 100% Gluten free. The Flash Fried Brussels Sprouts were a really flavorful appetizer- yummy and actually sweet, not bitter. My friend opted for the wild mushroom risotto and I chose the fish and chips. Great options! Happy I made a reservation cause the place was packed by 615p. Wish I liked Ciders because they have a huge selection! Worth the trip.

    The service was slow but I expected that based on the reviews. So if you set that as your expectations this will be a 5 star experience. Loved this little spot, food was great, staff was super friendly and the mulled cider was perfect on a cold night!

    We have eaten at Capitol Cider many times and have recently noticed their burgers are always cooked very under. This time, we asked for medium and hoped it would come out cooked better. Every bite was bright pink. 2 ciders and 2 burgers came out to nearly $80. Upon entering we noticed a strong bleach smell and the restaurant was freezing. We were jokingly, but also half seriously, using the candles to warm up our hands. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning to Capitol Cider.

    Made a reservation easily for an 830p table on OpenTable. We were sat as normal, then a server came up to our table and said “kitchen closes in 10 minutes”. Firstly, why accept a reservation at 830 if your kitchen closes at 840? To top it off the server never even shows back up before this ten minute mark we were given. Me and my guest then leave.

    Came to Capitol Hill Cider for NYE. Service was warm and attentive (not always the case on a holiday!). They made fantastic recommendations for cider pairings and we appreciated the options to create vegetarian options.

    Food was great, our server was fantastic, atmosphere was cozy and fun LOVED the variety of ciders-super interesting. A no brainer for someone with celiacs. So nice to remove the worry and be able to order ANYTHING on the menu!

    I ordered two salads, They brought the wrong salad first, then I was like okay please bring the right one. 2nd they brought the salad and Chicken was RAW!!! I asked them to please bring my check because I was waiting for about 80minutes . they were trying to charge me for a salad I never eat and they never bring it right. Is just! A lot of bad experience.

    We came here with my sister in law and her boyfriend, and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Highly recommend the calamari and cheese curds to start. The apple butter is amazing!!

    We used to go frequently since my wife is gluten free and Capitol Cider was one of our Seattle go-tos. But the food quality has significantly declined, while it seems the prices have increased. It’s unlikely we’ll go back.

    Great GF menu! Took my family and friends and my daughter has Celiac. Was a treat for her to order anything off the menu and get to enjoy foods that are impossible most of the time when we go out. Everyone in our crew enjoyed the food and cocktails. Service lagged a bit but it was busy and I’m one who appreciates NOT being rushed out of our meal anyway.

    I’ve been here three times over the last two years. It seems like the quality has gone down a bit. I did not get my cider until we’ll after my food came. The food was over done (chicken was hard and DARK brown on the edges and cheese curds were mostly a melted clump). The server only came back twice the whole meal (no refills). She never took one of my teen’s meal order. My teen was too embarrassed to ask her to come back so she just ate off our plates. I ordered lemon cake to go. Wow. Over priced for what it was a brownie sized lemon scented spongy cake that was very eggy… for $14 a 4x4 slice. I think I will try somewhere else for my next gluten free dinner.
