   This is a return for dinner before the symphony on a Friday evening. We had reservations at 5:30pm and they were nearly full by 6:15-6:30. You need reservations! The service was excellent with appropriate time between courses; however, we found the noise level to fairly high. Importantly, the food was brought out hot, sometimes an issue in Dallas restaurants. The raw tuna crudo appetizer was the right size for us and was absolutely delicious; highly recommended. I had the whole grilled bream in a tomato sauce that was excellent. The skin was crispy! My wife had sole that was beautifully prepared. Highly recommended for a excellent seafood dinner, one of the best in Dallas and consistent.

   Montlake Cut never disappoints. We dine regularly and this is my go to place to take friends who are visiting from out of town. As always the fish is always fresh, many staples to choose from + specials, and cooked to perfection. The restaurant is chill and cozy which makes this a great neighborhood eating establishment. Personally I enjoy eating at the bar for the social aspect and bar seats are by reservation only so you have plenty of space and no one is ever leaning over you to order a drink. Andrew is always working the bar and hands down best bartender in Dallas.

   About 4 hours before our reservation, the manager called to make sure we knew that we needed to be in and out in 90 minutes. Made for a stressful experience overall. Also, there was an incredibly loud table nearby, which made it impossible to have a conversation. On the plus side, the food was great and the cocktails well-made. Not certain about going back any time soon.

   Montlake Cut offers outstanding seafood in Dallas. It is hidden away in Preston Center, but parking is much easier than at many other restaurants. Although it is a small restaurant, seating is good with booths and tables as well as the bar. It is one of my "go-to" restaurants. The oysters were fresh and delicious and the halibut was outstanding as always.

   Fresh seafood (The tomato butter sauce is outstanding on whole barramundi). The service is by far in the top tier of dallas service. Servers know their fish, wine and do not fail to offer dessert. It’s a hidey hole of sorts too - nicely tucked away on a corner - free parking.

   The food and service were excellent. We had a swordfish and halibut from the daily specials. I still find Motte like cut to be a bit noisy, I was having a conversation with a business colleague, and it was a little bit hard to hear at times. With two beers in two cocktails it was $120 before tip so it’s not the most inexpensive place you can dine.

    The waiters were way too aggressive, arrogant and pushy. For the price that you’re paying you should have a very elegant dining experience, which was not had. No one should be hurrying you along and hovering over you. Not very European at all for the prices. There are No prices on the menu for some of the items. Which means they really don’t want you to remember what the server quotes and what a very mediocre serving of crab meat, which is not even pure crab meat costs. I think the crab was about $36?. Ridiculous. The ambience was lovely. But the food all of it was way over salted. When we went home that night we each drank about a gallon of water to wash out the salt. Way overrated.. should I post this further???? 😠😠😠

    We felt constantly rushed during our dinner for my 50th birthday. Our waiter wanted to take our order as soon as we sat down. Servers walked by constantly clearing off our table and interrupting our conversations. This is not the place to go to enjoy a relaxed evening with friends. The food was delicious but very expensive. It is evident they would rather turn over the tables quickly instead of allowing their guests to enjoy a nice meal. And definitely no time for a birthday celebration with coffee and dessert! Looking more closely at our Open Table reservation, it says in the fine print you have 90 minutes at your table. I'll never make a reservation again at a restaurant with this policy. We were very disappointed to spend $500 and literally be kicked out the door.

    Our evening began with the hostess forcing us to sit in a back tiny table because there were only 2 of us and we were told that we couldn’t have a 4 top. Our waiter had a bit of arrogance about him. The food was ok but it wasn’t something that I would be excited to share about. IMO it was over priced for what we got $52/dozen for oysters!!! The Keylime Parfait saved the evening. We probably won’t be back unless it was for dessert

    We sat at the bar. Andrew took care of us. NE oysters (Dux were the best last night), shrimp cocktail was delicious and the Ling Cod Oscar was over the top great. Love the service, the food…everything.

    We always love the food here!!! The noise level was over the top this time however. Not your fault, we sat next to a very obnoxious table which really ruined our night sadly. We couldn’t hear each other, there were no other available tables unfortunately. My personal opinion… the group of 5 should have dined at chilies if they were going to be that loud and obnoxious. Our server was super nice, he was trying very hard, but not really attentive. We always love the food always!!! We will be back because of that!!

    I love Montlake Cut! The crispy shrimp for an appetizer and the steak frites with the voodoo sauce is amazing. 10/10 experience every time from the food to the hostesses, waiters and bartenders. Definitely my fave!

    The staff is so friendly and they all helped to make my fathers birthday a joyous occasion. Fish is so fresh and beautifully prepared. The crab Rangoon app (fried rice) was our fav. Bartender makes a killer Manhattan as well!

    The food was good but not exceptional. The Halibut was a very small portion. The steak tartar was average as the beef flavor was masked by the marinade it was mixed with. The restaurant is attractive but the music level was higher than me and my dining partner would have liked. The best part of the meal was the chocolate silk mouse we had for desert. It was rich with a silky smooth texture and delightfully accented with caramel around the edges.

    Have eaten here a lot and the food was off. I had the Bronzini very little taste -son had swordfish no flavor. Wife had poke bowl (orders it a lot) and flavors were off- cost of meal exceeded value/quality of food. This was the first time I’ve experienced this way surf ambience everything was awesome as always.

    We were a party of six people, made the reservation some time ago and they preceded to cram us into a 4 person booth! We asked are you going to put us there and not a table, and we’re told yes in a take it or leave it manner. One of the men in our party was hanging off of seat! Then waiter takes order, which 4 of us pick the sole, only to have him return to our booth to say they are out of sole!! This is 6:30 on a Saturday night. Then everyone gets their salad except one at the table…..waited for that forgotten salad to arrive. Now onto dessert, waiter brings tab before asking if we want dessert, we order dessert, brings us the wrong dessert!! It was total chaos and other than the fish, a big disappointment! Also there were two tables in the back that could accommodate 6 people, where they seated 4 people each! Do not go here with a party of 6!!! And the girl who seated us could not have been any ruder if she tried…..crazy evening for the price!!
