COVID-19 meant that we were the only ones there, great service. Also they let people in that weren't wearing dress code.

It was just okay. The food was obviously previously cooked and re-heated. We had a party of five and went for the Restaurant Week $25 lunch deal. Each of us had something different and the food was just meh. The restaurant was almost empty. It probably doesn't do a lot of business and they don't prep food since they don't expect guests. The Parker Omni Hotel is an old hotel, which is very obvious from the decor and the very stale smell that permeates the premises. It must have been a hotel where smoking was very prevalent and they never updated the carpets or decor. Not pleasant environment to eat in. The chair I sat in had old food stuck down the sides. While the staff were friendly, the hotel and restaurant must not be keen for business. I would not recommend.

Seated promptly by front of house and the waitress Lillian was kind, attentive and refilled water often. Light conversations can be heard in the background but wasn't overpowering. Food was prepared very well and portion sizes were good. The filet mignon was filling and the Boston cream pie duo didn't have an overpowering sugary taste. Would return for celebrations and other special occasions.

Chowder, french onion soup & Boston Cream Pie were great. Lobster sandwich wasn't much to write home about. Ended up with an $80 bill (incl. tip) for 2 people for a restaurant week lunch date, so I'm not sure it's work the price.

For such an iconic restaurant, the experience fell short of expectations. My wife an I dined there on Valentine's Day at 7pm. Making a reservation through Open Table was easy. We started out with two appetizers: my wife had the Clam Chowder and I had the Lump Crab Cake. The Clam Chowder was average, could have used more seasoning and could have been a little thicker with a bit more clams and bacon. The Lump Crab Cake was OK too, nothing to write home about. Surprisingly, the bar does not have ANY beers on tap...had to order a bottled beer. The famous Parker House Rolls tasted no better than heat and serve rolls you can find in any supermarket. For the entrees, my wife had the Schrod and I had the 12-ounce rib eye steak (medium). My wife thought the Schrod was ok, but could have been better seasoned. My steak was a little overcooked and was not tender like a rib eye should be. We split a Boston Creme Pie and honestly, was not that impressed by it. Nothing really wrong with it, just expecting a little more flavor. Finally, we ordered coffee and it was brought out in a carafe. The coffee cooled down quite quickly, another disappointment. The total for 2 appetizers, 2 drinks, 2 entrees, 1 dessert and 2 coffees came out to $158 dollars. For about $50 more we could have had a better dinner at Abe & Louie's (the best steak we've had in Boston, so far). For the price and the iconic nature of the restaurant, the experience was disappointing.

I love this restaurant and come multiple times during the year. The ambience is old world with dark wood. The room is stunning. The noise level is low so that you may enjoy your conversation. The service is marvelous and without flaw. The food is ample in portion and perfect in presentation and has always been amazing in taste. It is a treat to dine here.

It's a lovely historic space and we enjoyed that part of it. But I'm sorry to say that we didn't think much of the food. The French onion soup tasted off and more importantly, the bread that is such a vital part of French onion soup was disastrously hard--so old and stale, apparently, that even a long soaking in the broth (which did not taste homemade) was hard as a rock. We had the fish and chips. The fish was quite tender and tasty. But the tartar sauce was sweet--as in, sugar added. Not good at all! The last thing on earth I would do with tartar sauce is to add sugar. It's supposed to be savory. As for the chips: there were far too many--a virtual mountain of chips which was off-putting to look at and not very appealing because they kalcked any crispness. The waiter, however, was very good and attentive. High marks to him.

Excellent service and the food was great. We hope to be back in the near future. The waitress was very professional and the young lady who met us at the entrance of the restaurant gave us an excellent corner table and brought our coats to our table when our lunch was completed. We were treated as royalty and it was very much appreciated since my husband was celebrating his upcoming retirement at the age of 70 years on March 2, 2020, God willing.

After researching restaurants near the Boston Opera House, I settled on dinning at the Parker House for lunch before the afternoon showing of The Nutcracker on Christmas Eve. Service was great. The hostess accommodated our last minute extra guest. The server was non-judgmental on the absurd amount of complimentary rolls our table consumed. The parker rolls were delicious. Served warm with cold butter balls that melted on contact. The smell and flavor were nostalgic. The food was mediocre. My husband, a New Englander, ordered the ‘chowda’. Although he prefers a nice creamy base as opposed to brothy, the chowder was way to thick; it was overwhelming. I ordered the crab cake, which was good; it is served with a salad with surprisingly delicious vinaigrette dressing. I would not recommend My husband’s main, lobster grill cheese, which was more of lobster on toast with a sprinkle of cheese; it was served with an overly salty house made pickle. My dish, the scallops, were completely over cooked; the menu stated it was served with couscous. I love small grain couscous, but unfortunate this dish was served with pearl couscous which I am not a fan of so I did not eat it. My brother-in-law ordered the club, which was huge. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law both ordered the salmon, served over jasmine rice, which they said was good. We ended our meals with dessert. I have never really ordered or been into Boston Creme, but I tried my sister-in-law’s and it was good. My cheesecake, which was a thick NY style, was delicious.
