The descriptions of Namese heightened our anticipation; the reality was "meh." It just wasn't anything special. Food was not particularly interesting and we didn't see the innovative fusion that we'd expected. The dishes were not standard Vietnamese. Indoor seating was unpleasant; too cold and very strong pine-sol smell. Sitting outside, given the location wasn't really lovely but it was preferable.

We went to Namese for a family Valentine's Dinner; 2 adults and one 6yo. We made reservations and were seated outside on the deck. Which was fine because of the fire pit but the uneven decking caused our table to wobble and splashed pho all over the table and my husband. When I asked for napkins and to be moved I was met with a response with that's how all the tables are outside because of the uneven decking. My husband's entree came out before the appetizer and my daughter's food came out last so the timing of food coming out of the kitchen was not well paced. They were out of drinks and the beer my husband ordered never came and still showed up on the bill which I contested. The food was only okay. Had the seafood pho, the crab rangoon, the shrimp bao tacos, and my daughter has the kid's menu vermicelli which if you moved the noodles you noticed there were shredded raw veggies underneath to make the dish look fuller which was fine because they went uneaten. Will not be going back.

Went to Namese for dinner. The fried dumplings were very good. The high point of the dinner was the pho. We got 2 bowls of pho....vegan and chicken.....and both were excellent. The Shaken Beef was also very good. Slightly off the beaten path, but well worth the trip !!

A friend and I were looking for someplace new, I choose Namese restaurant. The building wasn't terribly impressive and the location is a little out of the way but the food was delicious, the servers were friendly and attentive and it was perfect for a quiet meal. I would recommend it for everyday meals and special occasions. I gave it five stars because although the ambiance wasn't the greatest, everything else made up for it. I would definitely eat there again.

Love this place. Consistently delicious. Great staff and the food is priced well enough that it can be a weekly lunch/dinner spot. The Pho was great and the Bahn mi used Dong Phuong bread (the only acceptable bahn mi bread in New Orleans).

Some of the food was very good, but the fried options were overly breaded and not cooked properly. Although we went early and only a few other tables had people the server was much more interested in soccer on the TV than on properly attending to us. Food prices were quite high for the quality and quantity received.

I love this place - we go here whenever we can and have always loved the food, service, and ambiance. The outside seating is so cute and cozy, you can't even tell you're on the big intersection! The food is so good and a great mix between traditional and creative items. We always leave happy, and our 2-year-old is always excited to go and eat noodles, they have a great kids' menu and tons of options.

It was closed. Names didn't let Open Table know it was closed 7/3-7/4, so we only found out when we arranged transportation (that we paid for) to get across town to eat there and find a hand written sign on the door. Boo! Very disappointed. Unfortunately the only way to give a rating is with the stars and this whole attempt to eat at Namese was a waste of money and effort. Also not a good part of town.

we were heading out and wanted to try Vietnamese food, so decided to check out namese. I am not a fan of Vietnamese food so was not sure if I was going to like the place - but the restaurant serves nuvo-Vietnamese food or food that has been revised/updated for wider audience. The food still provides good flavor and large portions. We had ordered the oxtail pho plus tofu noodles. Both came in large portions and both were very good with good flavors and cooked well. The restaurant provides a lot of vegetarian and gluten free options, and this is something I have not seen at more traditional Vietnamese restaurants. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy - it was originally a gas station and then converted into a Middle Eastern restaurant before it became namese. The restaurant is nice and cozy and casual. The service is also good. overall, a good experience of nuvo-Vietnamese food.

What a great find in NOLA. A bunch of us were there for a few days at the end of March, 2016 and a pal who lives in NOLA recommended Namese for yummy Vietnamese food. He wasn't wrong! Although if you're visiting the Quarter or Marigny, thereabouts, you'll want to Uber it out east a bit as it is located on S. Carrollton at Tulane. The Pho was amazing! Several of us got the HUGE soup bowls (if you're not a big eater, one bowl is enough for 2) and my hubby and I ordered the Vietnamese Taco. WOW what a wonderful treat it that was. HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting this meat-filled, steamed rice flour bun. There's two in an order, along with the Pho, you and a pal won't come away hungry and it's right-priced too, so won't break the bank.

We went to Namese as a family (including our 2 yr old granddaughter) and had a great experience. We all enjoyed our food including the awesome Pho, spring rolls curry dishes. The service was excellent, and the waiter was very receptive to our needs, even with a family member who has food allergies, and did fine!
