   Where to begin. We were looking forward to dining here since it had been a year or two. We live in a different part of the Twin Cities so we have to drive there. What a disappointment. Went there for Mothers Day. I order the Ribs and Chicken combo for $36. I got 3 tooth crackin cold ribs, a chicken thigh and a chicken wing. One would think for the money I’d get a chicken breast and hot ribs. But not here. Must have used them up on the $90 buffet. But, I also got a soufflé cup of beans and Cole slaw. I added a side of potatoes after seeing my meal and they came cold too. My mother in law ordered the tacos. The walleye tacos. She was served two tacos. That’s it for $23. No sides like Spanish rice or anything. My wife got something call a chicken bowl. Not sure what actually came out. We also paid $8 for a basic bread plate. My recommendation, stay away as there are ALOT of better places for the money. It really made Mother’s Day end on a down note. Why would you spend money on a garbage experience ?

   We had a great birthday lunch at Birch today. The only disappointment was we signed up that we had a special occasion but no one brought it up.

   Birch's on Long Lake in Wayzata is a great place to meet with friends and enjoy delicious food and drink. The ambience inside or out on the patio is always enjoyable and relaxing. We were able to enjoy the patio at this visit with the weather cooperating after just a few sprinkles! The food was superb and service was exceptional. We can't wait to go back! Recommended for lunch, dinner, apps or a glass of wine and good company!

   We enjoyed the clam linguine and steak frites. Very good. Pretty view, quiet on a Wednesday evening. Our bartender/server was very nice.

    We had 7 PM reservation - arrived at 6:50 and spent over 30 minutes standing in the lobby - the story changed from time-to -time. Then seated in a booth in a high traffic area with other customers stopping to chat within feet (inches?) of our booth. A guy who might have been the manager stopped to thank us near the end and gave us a $15 off coupon for future - but no mention of the seating issue so it might have been something he gave to everyone. Server was friendly but some lapses. Out of prime rib - OK - we were late in the evening - but also out of Thousand Island Dressing???
