A great food experience! We ordered several small plates. Calamari may be the best we've ever eaten, beautifully cooked with raisins, pine nuts etc. Nice flatbread with fresh peas. Grilled sausage that appeared to be house made. Coffee panna cotta. I never post 5 star reviews, this place deserves it!

My friend's Jazz trio played at the Sorrento on the 26th. My mom loves to hear the group play, and there is no better place than the Fireside Room. The food is so good! The wait staff are so very courteous and friendly! Thanks Stella!

Food was not good. Have lunched here before and today fell short. Loud group next to us made it hard to converse. Service was adequate. No iced tea available. Is it so hard to keep a few tea bags in the kitchen?

Booked the valentines fixed menu. Bruschetta was served in the penthouse were there was standing room only and you only get one piece. We were herded down a small elevator to the dining room where everyone was seated haphazardly and dinner was served not by arrival but whenever the waiter remembered your table every table area was on a different course. The shrimp pasta had no shrimp. The waiter kept picking up the forks the. Serving new food without new silverware, so 3 of our tables would sit staring at our food with no means to eat it for 5-10 minutes or until we could flag someone down. The love music was nice.

Valentine’s Day event review: What a waste of money!!! $440 tab that I regret spending. We had a 6:30 reservation, didn’t get seated until 7:00 even though we checked in with the hostess stand at 6:20 (no one came and got us… so we had to wait in line 30 min to get seated.) The food was horrible. We paid $150 pp for a 4-course dinner that was something a middle schooler could have prepared. Two small baguette slices with a little bit of tomatoes to start (seriously?)… Pasta with only 3 tiny shrimp (not fresh) and 3 cherry tomatoes in a watered down Alfredo sauce that tasted straight from the jar…. Short ribs with kale so bitter you couldn’t even taste the meat….We even had to share the dessert which was just a slice of store bought tiramisu we found a piece of plastic in. why is it a 4 course meal again per person if we’re still sharing the course??? The service was terrible, I had an empty glass of water for the whole meal even though I asked for water TWICE. As someone who was a server, this is unacceptable. Aside from getting 0 water…We were seated before other tables and still saw other people getting their food before us. Just added to the frustration of being seated so late. Would never recommend anyone coming here for food or any events.

Honestly, I felt pushed through the entire meal, as if the restaurant was trying to complete our 4 course seating in 1:30. It was an elegant location but had an assembly line feel as waiters were placing dishes and drinks within minutes, trying to pull food away and get to the next course before you were done. Additionally, because it was a set menu we couldn't order any extra food or bread. The problem was that the alcohol to food ration was way off. The bruchetta and dessert were both tiny and shared. The pasta portion was on the small side, but the meat / main dish was normal & expected portion. When they served a pairing of 5 drinks with the light food - it was hard not to get blitzed. Luckily I'm 2x the weight of my wife, so I could drive home. She's never been so blasted. Finally, I would say that I appreciate the room and piano ambiance, but there was a partnership with some winemaker. At the midpoint of the dinner there was about a 15-20 minute intermission where 3 different people !!! talked about the wine and cellar, history and the love fest between the hotel and cellar. It was supremely annoying, as if I selected the event and restaurant to be a part their new found relationship and listen to a commercial. I was there to be with my wife....and like an airline pilot that won't stop talking when people are trying to do other things, we just rolled our eyes and endured it because we couldn't talk. Finally, the value was not there. Period. $340 dollars all in to feel like you were a part of a valentine assembly line experience. Food was mid.

I thought the food was pretty good; the risotto wasn’t completely done. The scallops however were delicious. The cocktails were interesting with a decent wine list although no good brut sparkling. My friends both enjoyed their meals, there was one thing great and then another thing average about it. The kale Caesar was more romaine than kale, the dressing was tasty and I liked the wedge of lemon. It’s a great stop to visit before or after the Frye. Upon departing listened to the singer in the lounge who was quite good with piano accompaniment.

I have enjoyed going to Stella’s since it opened and have never had a bad experience until last Friday when I went there for lunch with a friend. We were greeted by a very friendly staff person. We enjoyed a wonderful appetizer of calamari l. It was very delicious. We waited 40 minutes for our main course to arrive and when I asked our server what was the delay he answered in an angry manner that he was waiting for us to finish our appetizer. There were 2 left in the plate and was quite clear that we had finished eating. Then our main course arrived. After our server left we realized we had no utensils to eat our meals and we finally were able to alter the hostess who found us some. Never did our server come back to check in with us. While it looked like there was only a few staff there and I understand staff can feel overwhelmed, however there was only 2 other tables with people and there was no one at the bar. This was lunchtime and this is a restaurant which gets quite a few of their clientele form the staff that work at the nearby hospital. When it came time for the bill l, I had to pay it at the bar as again no one came to the table r bring it. The bartender could barely contain her annoyance with me for asking her to do this for me. I am really disappointed with the service and hope that this was just a one off day and won’t happen again.

Stella never disappoints: friendly service, first-rate food, and warm atmosphere can be counted on. As we were leaving, another couple was looking at the menu outside. They asked us if the food was good. We said absolutely! And then they told us one of them is having cardiac surgery this week, and would we recommend the Sorrento as a place for the spouse to stay during this time? Yes, indeed.

Our server was very new, not attentive. Forgot a portion of our order, when reminded he replied he forgot, brought the item and did not charge us, which was appreciated. He never brought more water, checked on us, let us know he wasn't experienced with cocktails, did not offer options of non alcoholic drinks (which we loved that there were non alcoholic mixed drink options). I have dined here before and the service was good, I will be back. But, the training and support of new servers needs to be revisited and addressed.

Service can be a little slow, but the food is outstanding, the staff are very kind and attentive, and the ambiance is fantastic! It’s very cozy, perfect for a winter day. We request to sit in the fireside room a lot, and have noticed the service is a little faster there, if you’re in a hurry (but in the end, you don’t mind the slow service because it’s the kind of place you want to linger). My husband and I have been multiple times and now we drag our friends there any chance we get. The spinach artichoke dip is my favorite thing, and I love their cocktails. They make great classic cocktails too. My husband ordered champagne cocktail for new years and it was delicious.

It would be nice to know when you're making the reservation that they automatically have a forced 20% gratuity. And that all the menu items are changed because it was a holiday.

STELLA.Responded on January 7, 2023Hello, It's unfortunate that we weren't able to get the notice out to all of our reservations about the special menu, and I apologize for how this affected your evening. We do put the gratuity in writing on the menus, but further clarification will be made in these circumstances. I hope your holiday was still enjoyable, and that we see you again another time. Historic building with great atmosphere. Definite care was put into the menu and it so fun to try some new to me foods. The chef created pairings that balanced flavors and textures and everything we tried was so delicious. Table favorites were the Aracini, prosciutto wrapped dates, chicken piccata, and scallops. Cocktails were creative and refreshing. Ethan was our server and he was very attentive and helpful. Our group had an unforgettable dinner here and will definitely be back!

We made reservations for Christmas dinner; last night. I don’t even know where to begin, so I guess I will start with how obvious it was that none of the employees (minus Min) wanted to be there, inclusive of the bartender in the hotel lounge area. I get it, it’s Christmas. I also bartend and worked the night before on Christmas Eve. With that being said, fake it… please. We arrived at 4:45 and my husband went to ask if we could get a drink and the bartender without looking up said “we don’t open until 5pm.” It’s a hotel lounge. What? Okay, well If that is the rule are we at least allowed to have water? We weren’t offered that. Then When we were being seated to our table in the bar area of Stella , the person seating us said to the bartender “these are your guests, we are seating them at table…such and such” and the bartender responded with “If they are not sitting at the bar, they are not my guests”. Really? I work in hospitality, and bartend. Every person that walks into the restaurant is a guest of mine. It was rude. Then our server barely came to our table. He didn’t tell us what they were out of until we asked about it. We ordered a round of drinks and one person didn’t get their cocktail for over 20 minutes. I know that sounds like I am exaggerating. I’m not. It pains me to type it. I get it if he was busy. But we were the second table there. He didn’t even start making the drink until someone from my table went up and asked him about it. Then When we got our food, we wanted to order a bottle of wine. Our server never came over to check in on us. We grabbed the hostess and ordered through her. She brought out glasses, and when she went to get the bottle, our server returns to the table asking “oh! Did you order a bottle of wine?”. It was comical to say the least. We barely saw our server. It took almost three hours to eat. We were there to spend money. They lost out on at least $120 more of revenue.

Wonderful atmosphere, delicious cocktails, and friendly staff. Such a gorgeous space, especially when decorated for Christmastime! My only criticism is that the menu didn’t match the one they had online, and I was a bit underwhelmed with the options actually offered. Lots of fancy-sounding dishes, but none that leapt out at me. I ended up ordered several sides and they were all fantastic. But I would’ve loved a nice white sauce pasta or burrata appetizer.

If I recall correctly, Stella is a reboot of the Rhododendron room at the Hotel Sorrento. Since our reservation was at noon, I can only evaluate the lunch offerings. The menu is quite small in terms of food (with a grossly imbalanced wine list and more cocktail options than entrees). However, we were quite pleased with our appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Service was relaxed and competent and the ambiance was pleasant. I can easily endorse Stella for either a personal or business lunch - with the proviso that a picky eater might only have one or two options to choose from.
