The wood-fired grill brings savory depth to land and sea-based proteins. Our wine and beer selections are carefully curated and our cocktail list evolves continually. And we have incredible non-seafood options as well, such as our Chef's Cut - a rotating choice of steaks cooked on our open fire! We have two patios - one that is covered and affords great views of the surrounding area, another that is uncovered and a great place for walk-ins to wait for their table while grabbing a drink. Reservations recommended but we try to accommodate as many walk-ins as we can. Please be advised that reservations are held for 15 minutes before cancellation.     We had the worst experience with the server. We felt like every time we asked for something, we were being an inconvenience. He had a look on his face of disgust right in front of us. It left a poor taste where we canceled our second order and said to give us the check. The lights kept going off on the patio. Poor service and not much was done to make it better from the manager. For a Saturday night it was slow and now I see why!

    Mediocre food and overpriced. Charging a mandatory 22% gratuity for a “large party” of 5 people in addition to a recommended additional gratuity up to another 20% makes no sense. No wonder they were not busy on a Saturday night. This is a place to be avoided!!

    We had a wonderful time at Rock Salt! Everything was delicious! We had a few oysters, the crab dip, scallops, and mahi mahi! Our waitress was phenomenal!

    The cook was not there when we got there. The food was terrible. It had no flavor and the description did not match what we received. The waiter seemed lost and did not bring the items requested. The rest room had water dripping by the sink.

    It would seem the chef has changed. Despite having to wait 40 mins for the food it arrived over cooked. My wife’s food also had someone’s hair as an extra. We used to enjoy this restaurant once a month, but something has changed.

    RockSalt is one of our favorite local spots! The staff is always so friendly. Even when they’re busy and understaffed the employees are calm and smiling. The food is always very delicious! We definitely recommend!

    Jacob was an excellent and attentive server. As it happens, the ovens were down for maintenance and there were no hot menu items available at the time of our reservation. We opted for the oysters and a few salads and things worked out fine. Always great ambience!

    Good place. The oysters were good. Good place and the service was perfect. But they just had three dishes available last night. The food was good but not worth the price. Some Food was unsalted.

    The patio is lovely and most of the food we had was pretty good. I liked that there were plenty of fruits and vegetables incorporated into the dishes, and it made me feel like I was eating healthy. Unfortunately I did not like my dish of soft shell crab. I don't think the taste/texture was good. Not sure what was wrong with it exactly, but I've had soft shell crab before and the other times the dish was much more tasty than this.

    We were seated promptly upon arrival, but it took our server 20 minutes to appear and take our drink order. She did not inform us ahead of time of the dishes the kitchen ran out of (lesson learned- not to make a reservation past 8:00 pm). Even though our server was nice,She was very frazzled and scattered . The food was delicious as always. What frustrates me is the fact that they always run out of something. Making a 40-45 minute trip and ending up not having the dish we came for (whole fish) was very disappointing. They ran out of the whole fish, Lavash appetizer and clams. Like mentioned, it is best to make a reservation before 8:00 in order to be able to have more options available to choose from.

    Food was good, portions were small. The service was very slow, not attentive, our server was on her phone. Overall feeling was that servers just didn’t care. 22% tip was automatically added to bill. This restaurant is extremely loud.

    Server was great but they were out of everything! No lettuce for Cesar Salad, no Branzino that they had displayed as a special, no chocolate cake. Felt like everything we went there for, they were out of. We made it work but disappointed.

    The main course was great, but that is literally it. Appetizer was bland, salad was Luke warm and soggy. Service was.... less than stellar. Once she realized she made an error on our order (which we were totally fine with, mistakes happen!) she did not come back to us until we had to ask one of the other servers for refills and our check after waiting for about 25 minutes. We were really looking forward to this place, but will not return.

    We arrived for a 7pm reservation and there were only two other tables occupied. There was zero music playing, and once the two tables left, it was creepy quiet except for the kitchen clanging. About halfway thru dinner (7:30), the bartenders and servers left and the hostess was serving our food. At 7:45 the kitchen food runner started cleaning out the oyster bin, scraping all of the frozen ice out -so loud bc we were sitting right by it. It went on for at least 10 minutes. I honestly thought they would start mopping soon. My friend’s Queens Feast selections were tasty (oysters and fish) but mine were not. The Tuna Tartare tasted like it was combined the day before and sat in the fridge all day, as all of the vegetables in it tasted terribly bland and fishy. They served my main course of scallops over rice on a tiny round BREAD PLATE. The scallops were good, rice was way over peppered. We were out of there before 8pm. I’ve never had an experience like this in Charlotte and we eat out a lot. This place seems like it’s about to fold. We are never going back, so disappointed.

    I had a horrible dining experience watching the staff take continuous smoke breaks and make out in the open kitchen while we, and the two other parties in the restaurant, waited for 2 hours for our entrees. There were more employees than patrons and we still couldn't get waited on. Very disappointing.

    It was a service disaster. After receiving our cocktails and placing our order, we did. not get any service for over an hour. Finally, I complained to someone inside and then 10 minutes later a really nice gentlemen come to the patio and asked if there was a problem. Explaining the situation to him he apologized and informed us that a chef and wait staff had walked out. Then we placed our order again with him. They did comp us another round of cocktails and took care of us right away and even extended a discount. Much appreciated but I will NEVER go back there during restaurant week. There food is great but this VERY poor service was really just unacceptable.

    To start, we won’t be back. When we first arrived, the GM and staff members told us we couldn’t sit down without a reservation. While they didn’t seem that busy, we decided to jump on to make a reservation, which had us sitting in the next 45 minutes. They then proceeded to tell us that we would not be able to sit down at that time, even though we made a reservation. Randomly, they changed their tune and sat us outside, where we had to ask them to run to the back several times to get items such as silverware and the queens feast menu and extra cocktail sauce. They delivered my husband’s drink on time and mine came about 20 minutes later. On top of that, our oysters turned our stomachs to the point that my husband even spit out an oyster (I have never seen him spit out food). They were not the fresh experience we had hoped for. We had several servers greet us, including one that was claimed to be the best server. We felt like she talked about herself not giving us a chance to bond on our monthly date night. There was a maturity that seem to be lacking among the servers. As someone who has been in hospitality, you aren’t supposed to make the experience about yourself, but about the client. We had more than one server, say “this is the day I quit” trying to make a joke, but really setting our date night mood off to a less than stellar start. We won’t be back.

    Went for Queens Feast and had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The restaurant was half empty, and we still waited 50 minutes to be sat (even though we had reservations) and another 40 minutes until a server came. Anything we ordered took forever to arrive — my partner even had to go to the bar and pick up the drinks himself. The food was all mediocre at best. I had a salad that was all old lettuce, seafood pasta that had no flavor and was missing the seafood…. My partner had to spit out one of the oysters because it tasted foul. Aside from the service being incredibly slow, the servers were rude and inappropriate and added multiple things to our bill that we didn’t order. We’ve been to RockSalt in the past and loved it (even went for Queens Feast last year and it was amazing), but this was such an awful experience that we won’t be going back anymore.

    Went Saturday night. Checking in with the hostess for our reservation took 10 minutes. Was very disorganized. Once seated. Took our server over 10 minutes to greet us. He was nice and apologetic but had just been reprimanded by the line lady. The employee running the line was very rude to all the staff. She would yell things a lot. Something about tickets etc… she was not nice at all and set a bad tone for the servers who all appeared to hate her. The food was ok but it was restaurant week so portions were smaller. Didn’t enjoy the Caesar salad. Oysters and shrimp were good. Seafood pasta very small seafood portions. When the couple next to us were leaving the yelling started again very loudly. I said something like good time to be leaving. The lady replied, yes she’s been awful. At 830 she yelled to the hostess to lock the door. They were not taking any more walkins. Seemed strange since the restaurant was thinning out and it said they were open till 10. Overall not the best experience. Our tab was 178.00(tip included). Didn’t feel like a great experience for almost $200.

    We went for restaurant week. Server was nice but didn't know the menu. Portions were very small. One of the main courses (crabcake) was served on a butter dish so really no sides. The scallop main course were 2 and weren't large. They added on a 22% tip without letting you know. Very disappointing experience.

    Terrible service. Average food. Laughable portions. We considered talking to the manager until the table next to us complained about their gray, slimy salad and the manager proceeded to condescendingly explain to them why that may be and why it was because the patrons didn’t understand. Overall waste of time and money.

    We ate there on the first night of charlottes restaurant week - they were overwhelmed to say the least. However, our server Jacob did an outstanding job: he was juggling multiple tables and groups of cranky customers and handled all gracefully. We had several of the queens feast items, all were excellent. Excellent crab cake, the daily catch was very well done, oysters were good (we are not fans of oysters) and everyone seemed to enjoy. Recommend checking this place out at any time - but make a reservation, this place is busy!!! And well deserved !

    The service with Leeann at Park Rd shopping center was excellent. She was able to answer all the questions about the menu and to make suggestions as well. She represented your restaurant well The food was excellent. We ate the crabcake dish and enjoyed. We just felt it was too salty. My friend ate the oysters and enjoyed them. Thank you

    Let’s start with what was good! The oysters were delicious! Service; although the server was very nice, she let us know she was the head bartender amd wasn’t sure if she would be our server, turned out she was. Started by taking our order by writing on her hand, when she realized that wasn’t going to work she found a note pad. She was busier training and taking care of her drink orders than our table, we had. $400 bill and expected much better service.

    Great place...we continue to return to Rock Salt. Due to some allergies, the chef was extremely accommodating and the food was delish. We had a new waitress who was just learning and she was very attentive even though it was very busy. We always take our out of town guests to Rock Salt and we haven't had a disappointed visitor. A little disappointed that oyster happy hour was eliminated on w/e though but very understandable. Will have to get there during the week.

    Solid little seafood place in the Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte. Had two trios of grilled oysters which were absolutely delicious. Did a dozen raw of the three varieties they were offering that night and all were quite good,clean and fresh. Wish I had reconsidered on the order of curried mussels. The muscles were fresh and flavorful and on point in terms of their preparation, the curry just didn't go far enough in one direction or the other. It was a coconut milk curry so it could have been a little sweeter or it could have been a little spicier but instead it sort of sat in the middle and was a little bit bland. It was also really dark in terms of the color of the sauce and it made the dish a little bit unappealing. That was more my mood than it was the overall quality as the ingredients of that dish were as fresh as anything else. Would go back. Would recommend. Service was excellent.
