Contemporary American
Restaurant Marron in Seattle, Washington has a bit of everything on its menu. For those looking for fresh bread, there are multiple varieties baked in house daily including homemade brown butter to serve as a nice topping. For an entre, the baked steelhead trout is always popular. Restaurant Marron serves this with hedgehog mushrooms, spinach and butter. Restaurant Marron is also a popular spot for an evening out spent wine tasting, and for good reason. The wine list at the venue is rather extensive, and it has also created a special appetizer menu for just such an occasion. Take a look at the dessert menu as well, as there are several tasty options.

This was our first time. We brought friends from Chicago who wanted to go to this restaurant because a friend of theirs had the "best meal of their life" at Restaurant Marron. The four of us were VERY underwhelmed. We had the limited Sunday Dinner menu but the food itself was disappointing. Not a comfortable place to dine although the historic nature of the space is intriguing. My friend is gluten-free and the choices were very limited. I wish we had introduced them to one of our favorite restaurants in town. We won't be going back.

Restaurant Marron is a must do for a quiet Sunday Supper. The 3 course meal was hearty & well executed by Eric. I particularly loved the Brioche Dumplings & the Roasted Alaskan Cod. The wines chosen by Zarina for Pairing with the meal was perfect. Service was excellent as well. I would definitely return & try the Tasting Menu.

Quiet, intimate restaurant in a nice setting. Restaurant Marron offers a very European feel to its offerings and service. Be prepared for leisurely service, and knowledgeable staff. At this price point, they really should have not charged extra for the bread. A written description of the wine offerings in the pairing would have been welcome. At the very least, they could have shown us the bottles. Regardless, ordered the 3 course prix fixe and enjoyed it. The black cod was cooked perfectly. A little on the salty side, but good selections.

Super friendly, intimate place. Every course was delicious and the wines are interesting, unconventional and yum. The low key atmosphere (literally a husband and wife run the whole place) combined with Michelin class dining is a treasure. Not to be missed. Such a nice couple.

Outstanding. We went with the tasting menu and wine pairing and every bite left us saying "wow". The category for service is a misnomer for this place, should be called "hospitality", because we felt like we had entered the elegant home of a fantastic chef and we're being graciously served by his wife. Just lovely people, exquisite food. Tip: don't eat lunch before you go. :)

This restaurant is a great find, you won'd be disappointed. Run by a young couple, striving to do everything just right, they strike a wonderful balance between low-key atmosphere and top-notch gracious service. We did the tasting menu with the reserve wine pairing. The courses imaginative and tasty. The drink pairings were chosen with care and added greatly to the dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I've been to Restaurant Marron six times since they opened and it's far and away my favorite spot for a special-occasion dinner. Zarina and Eric are incredible hosts--on our most recent visit; Eric brought out a pair of sunglasses we had left behind a few months ago. They go to so much effort (in an effortless way) to make guests feel cared for in a very personal way. The menu is always surprising and delicious. The wine pairings are perfect. I can't say enough great things about how special the experience is.

Hands down my favorite place to dine. It's a special occasion place for us, but we just invent special occasions to go. Local, fresh food and sometimes some very special imports that owners treat their guests to. At $62 for a three course prix-fixe, it's really a great deal for the amazing food you're getting. The dishes are exquisite and beautifully prepared. The wine pairings, perfect every time.

We absolutely loved every item on the menu and with four of us we tried almost everything. The service is beyond warm and friendly. It is special. The only recommendation we have is to make the lighting a little softer and possibly adding a few candles. Oh, and taking American Express would be great too! What a delightful neighborhood gem with casual yet complex food.

My husband and I went to Restarant Marron to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we were taken by the quaint intimate environment. Zarina met us as we entered and saw to it that we had a lovely evening. The kitchen, staffed by the chef- Eric, was partially visible and very calm- partially because there are a mere three people running the entire show (Zaria, Eric and one other person) and partially because they really have their act together. The menu (we each had a three course meal) is so interesting we were disappointed that we weren't with a larger party so we could have tasted more on the menu (yet another reason to go back soon). The food was all between very very good and outstanding. The environment is so sweet- a total of eight tables dot the entire place and they are not on top of each other giving you as much privacy as you want. The restaurant is turning out beautiful, well balanced plates with amazing sauces and composition. It is a quiet, relaxing place where you will be taken with the creative menu, the quality of the delivery and the relaxing overall experience. In this era of big boisterous restaurants, Restaruant Marron is a gem of a standout and should not be missed.

Restaurant Marron offered a really personal and wonderful experience. The food was delicious! The croutons in the dino kale and beet salad were SO good. I had the braised elk and it was fork tender and well seasoned. The grits and veg with the elk were really nice, as well. I loved the brownie with peanuts, but the ginger snaps were also great (I took some to enjoy the next day). Zarina took really good care of us and made us feel so welcome. Please try this place! It's delightful and makes for a truly special evening.

Wonderful food. As entrees we had the cod and the lamb. Both were superb. The cod particularly had a mix of flavors that were new, unusual, and subtle. The fish was cooked, but as moist as if it was uncooked. Really an amazing dish.

Completely impressed with Restaurant Marron. The atmosphere, the friendly hospitality, and most importantly, the incredible food and wine!! Zarina is so nice and very knowledgeable about wines, whiskeys, food, and coffee. She chose excellent pairings for all 3 courses and even suggested whiskey pairings instead of wine for dessert, which we absolutely loved. Each dish was exquisitely prepared with excellent combinations. We will definitely be back to see what's on the menu next time!!

Restaurant Matron is a comfortable and delicious place for dining. We went for my birthday after hearing about its glowing reviews. We arrived to a brightly lit room with a simple setup. There was a table at the entrance with wine and flowers. Much of the room had small tables and with space between them. I was surprised that the setup wasn't made more intimate and romantic. However, the amazing old mural of a Russian fairy tale and kind server made up for anything wanting. We ordered 3 courses each for $57. We had a butternut soup, pork dumplings, lamb in a pho type soup with pickled vegetables, fried pork, peanut butter chocolate cake with mango ice cream, a cheese plate, and champagne. A candle was added to our cheese plate for my birthday and we were given two small cookies when we left. Very sweet, kind, and unpretentious service. It was delicious and ranks up there with Altura. My only suggestion is to make the decor and lighting more romantic for evening meals.

Restaurant Marron has amazing food, beautiful wines and parings and great service. We had a fabulous evening with the 6 course tasting menu - and it was a generous 6 courses. The food was creative and delicious. The wine pairings were inspired. And the service was both friendly and perfect. All that and a fantastic wine cellar - small, but mighty. We will definitely be back!

Nice small restaurant operated by husband and wife team. We had the set price 3 course Sunday supper with choices between two entrees and two desserts. Wine pairings were also available. The hostess explained each course being served and she politely engaged in conversation with us. The food was presented well was seasonal and delectable! Even though it took us a long time to find parking we were never rushed through our dinner. We were even given an umbrella for the walk to the car! Very thoughtful and caring gesture by our hostess/ owner.

This is probably one of the best restaurants we have been to and our hobby is going to nice restaurants! We did their version of the tasting menu and the food was amazing! The flavor combinations were inventive and tasty. The foods were all cooked to perfection. The wine pairing complemented the food perfectly and were treats by themselves. The restaurant is owned, run and staffed by a couple and they are two of the nicest people! Obviously they are both very knowledgeable about the foods they serve but they do so in a very friendly approachable manner. The restaurant itself use to be a old Russian restaurant with scenes from old Russia painted on the walls. It is very spacious, quiet and perfect for a romantic dinner. My only regret is that me and my wife discover this restaurant on a trip and we don't live in Seattle or we would be a regular in this restaurant!

We had a wonderful opportunity of dining here twice during our visit. We came on a weekday & both appetizers (bottarga pasta & venison pasta) were equally exquisite! Both entrees of Alaskan Cod & Wagyu Beef Cheeks were cutting edge, unusual & exciting. The wine list was outstanding! We came back for Sunday Supper & it was just fabulous -- 3 appetizers, a choice of entree & dessert -- definitely a much better deal than the city's ongoing Restaurant Week, as they were full portions!!! Matter of fact we were pleasantly stuffed! Service was so personalized as it was run by a husband-&-wife team who are the sweetest and most accommodating restaurant personnel I have ever come across with in all my years of travel!

My wife and I recently went for our 9th year Anniversary. We were a little stunned that it wasn't as full as we thought it would be, given the location. Unfortunately, they had some cancelations. That worked out to our favor as Zarina ushered us to a larger table. They are a small operation but the quality is high. Zarina was extremely warm and friendly and made it a point to wish us a happy anniversary. She ever wrote it on the daily menus. Everything on the menu looked amazing. We ordered multiple items on the menu. My wife had the cod and I had the duck leg. The food came at a moderate pace and it gave my wife and I enough time to savor their wine and whiskey selections. I love wild game and I have to say that this is THE BEST duck I've ever had the pleasure of eating. The appetizers; egg noodles, gnocchi style dumplings, and fresh salad were all amazing as well. Also, I forgot to mention, they brought out a little snack with the drinks, so we could munch while waiting for the appetizers. It was a BBQ popcorn with nori flakes. What an insanely good combination. That is innovative and tasty. The food was so good that we ordered a couple bags of the popcorn to go and another duck leg entrée that I prepared and heated up the next day. It was as good as before because they packaged it up correctly for me to do so. Great job Eric and Zarina. We'll be back for sure!

We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. It is a small restaurant with a short menu. Everything on the menu is extraordinary, however. The chef has unusual combinations which are magic. I had sweet corn ice cream on my brownie and it was delicious. My husband thought the goat cheese and lime cheesecake was the best he had ever had in his life. There are items you will have never seen before which work beautifully. We were celebrating our anniversary and enjoyed dinner with another couple. Everyone tried a different entree' and we were all very happy. At the top of the menu the owners had written "Happy Anniversary." Our server was extremely attentive. Even though I had a bottle of sparkling water sitting there, the server came by to refill my glass each time it was getting low.

We had a wonderful evening at Restaurant Marron from start to finish. Zarina and Eric are the dynamic duo, husband and wife team, chef and sou chef/hostess, behind this charming little space with fabulous food. It started with their complimentary barbecue popcorn. Spiced perfection. Appetizers were a flavorful corn and onion soup with a delicious eggplant quesadilla on the side and a delicious tomato salad. We both had fish for our entree, one was pompano and the other was cod, tandoori style. Incredible layers of flavor. Ended with a lovely cheese plate with a dollop of peach compote (they should bottle it!). The room was formerly a Russian restaurant with very interesting painted walls. Love this place!

The service is terrific and the chef even comes out to present his food. The operation is small with just the chef, hostess/server, and a busboy.
