   I’ve been here before and it was great. However, this time, the establishment was closed when we arrived for our reservation. It was not updated on Open Table. Tough on a Saturday night trying to scramble to get a table elsewhere last minute.

   Food just ok. Spinach crab appetizer was unevenly heated and barely ok. Entrees were nothing special. Burger better than other items tried. Service was good.

   Food was all very good. Nice varied menu with excellent vegetarian options. The service was first-rate -- friendly, fast, helpful and accommodating. Overall nice, comfy, neighborhood gem.

   My husband left his credit card at the restaurant and they returned it to him via Fed Ex. Would not accept a tip for doing so. Will definitely return there when we next visit the area.

   I've never written a review before myself, but I read about Regal Beagle and their reviews were decent. I took my mom to Ragal Beagle for her birthday and was very disappointed. The music was strange for the atmosphere, and too loud and jarring. Her burger, asked for medium rare, was over-cooked. My risotto was just a gummy, un-tasty mess, and it was all over-priced for what we got.

    Walked by the Regal Beagle a thousand times and finally decided to give it a try. Am kicking myself we hadn’t gone sooner. Not haute cuisine, but very good tavern food. The burger they serve is the largest (diameter) of any I can recall. It is served with truffle fries that are thick cut and very good. The Mac and Cheese hit the spot it’s intended to hit (an enlarged belly). And we also had the eggplant steak that melted in my mouth. Served with basmati rice...made a great combo. Good selection of local and distant beers, and reasonably priced wine. We left with leftovers and genuine satisfaction. We’ll be back.

    A quiet, comfortable, local venue. Great for a late night weeknight dinner or drink. Creative menu however a little over ambitious. Great service. Good for a casual date or meet up with a friend.

    This has been a family favorite for many years, but the last year or so has been less consistently noteworthy. The cocktails are great. Service was very good. The crab and spinach appetizer with seasoned pita bread was so-so. The scallops and risotto was good, but not great. A little heavy.

    Love this spot for a classic and reliable brunch! Good food, good variety - from sweet to savory - and the vibe is low key and lovely. Will definitely be back! Next time hope to try the chicken & waffles!

    The food is always fine at the Beagle, but it's a small menu, so if the words "Eggplant Steak" don't appeal, you're down an entire main course out of some 5 or 6 options. I have had their burger before and it was great, but this time I had the chicken scallopini and it was under-whelming: well prepared, but boring. My friend had the scallops over risotto and the scallops were perfectly prepared but there was a sauce on top of the risotto which wasn't great and kind of killed the dish. We did have some excellent Brussels sprouts and the cocktails were fantastic (highly recommend the Negroni).

    Great Food- Wish the wine list was better.... Though I did order a great cocktail. I had the scallops/ a special my husband had a filet and my dad had the burger. ALL enjoyed. We were in town for the Boston Marathon.

    I had a chopped salad and the eggplant steak. The dressing on the salad wasn't very good and the eggplant had absolutely no taste. It will be a long time before I come back.

    I’ve always walked past this place and decided to make a reservation on Valentine’s Day and it was great that they didn’t change their menu because of this day. I ordered the Mac and cheese dish and I would like to think I’m a Mac n cheese snob and this dish was impeccable! My boyfriend ordered the lamb and also thought it was exquisitely cooked. We will definitely be going back to this place!

    Cozy atmosphere, good drink menu, best for cocktails/nibbles. Had the burger which was very bland, made me wonder about the quality of the meat, and the accompanying salad was just greens with a lackluster dressing. Overall disappointing food and our waitress would disappear for lengths of time, had to go and fetch her twice, once for salt and the other to pay the bill. It wasn't a busy night so was hard to understand the poor service. That said, my friend enjoyed the grilled romaine salad with salmon. Personally, I wouldn't eat there again but would go for a drink/nibble.

    Our experience at Regal Beagle was disappointing to say the least. Our very young waitress was very friendly but woefully under-trained. She had no sense of appropriate timing (when to ask us about drinks, about our order, etc) and knew very little about the food on the menu. She was not able to answer our questions and interrupted us every few minutes to ask how things were going. This is the fault of the management who clearly did not train her properly. The evening we went for dinner, it was very cold outside and it seemed the restaurant assumed no one would show up and didn't order enough food? My "braised pork shoulder" with "warm farro salad and chili jus" was a plate of completely tan food - farro salad? The farro was plain with very little seasoning, nary a vegetable or spring of parsley, etc. Chili jus? I don't think so. The pork had decent flavor but was dry and under seasoned. I would have been embarrassed to send that plate out of a kitchen. We started with the mezze plate that seemed to have none of the items described on the menu. Marinated peppers? None. Just some bland piles of food that didn't go together and did not seem fit for a mezze platter, and no bread, cracker, or pita to go with it. When we asked for bread from the manager (? not sure his role but he was mentoring our waitress), he seemed surprised, gave us attitude, and grudgingly got us three pieces. At the end of the meal, our waitress asked us if we wanted anything else. When we said we would take a look at the desserts she said, "Oh, I forgot to tell you that we don't have any of the desserts tonight. Ha ha!". I will assume this was an off night for the restaurant but I will not be going back. It was one of the least professional, disappointing dining experiences I have had in a long time.

    We love the regal beagle because it’s in our neighborhood, has a cool ambiance, and the food is solid. Having said that, the last time we went in, the server was pretentious. We’ll be back, but with lower expectations.

    Dry chicken in a dish devoid of color, a thin, comically wide burger soaking a small, mediocre bun, servers who seem to barely tolerate their customers. Capturing the whole experience - a customer's coat had fallen off the back of her chair onto the floor and the main walkway through the restaurant. Staff repeatedly stepped over it until I picked it up myself. Looking in the windows, the atmosphere had promised something much better.

    Although our server was new, the rest of the staff was outstanding, very personable and helpful. There was a glitch with one dish we ordered - farro missing from the squash appetizer - but it was still a wonderful dish. Attempts to fix it were humorously ineffective but sincere.

    I had the pork shoulder which was very disappointing. It was dry and flavorless and looked more like pork tenderloin. I think it was microwaved before serving because it was so hot when it arrived that it was inedible. I cook pork shoulder myself, and it's easy and delicious, so I'm mystified by their inability to do the same. I've eaten here before many times, and while the food was never fantastic, it was usually good. Don't know that I'll go back.
