I enjoyed my time here mainly because I was with a friend. I was quite disappointed in my choice of a meal. The duck confit was just crispy and salty and served on mayonnaise - described as aioli but was quite heavy I thought and if there was a garlic flavor it was overpowered by the saltiness- no meat to speak of and cost $40 and came with nothing else. There was one choice for salad only - a panzenella with chicory - it was dressed well but, like everything else these days, it was spicy, and didn't provide much in the way of veg. The oysters were delicious, the wine was nice. Nice setting, good friend.

The oysters were delicious as always. The only thing is that we ordered the pork chop and it is 50% fat, not really impressed.

Table was not ready as we arrived, and had to wait.... Our server who was also functioning as the bar tender seemed to have little care over our experience and came off a little rough. The table was too small for the "seafood tower" champagne and cocktails we ordered, so water and champagne were placed on the bar. Anytime we ran out we had to stand up to refill. Out enthusiastic bartender / server seemed way too into making his "specialty cocktails" and entertaining as it was quite a spectacle... (One thing I noticed was all cocktails were measured, meaning to me he couldn't free-pour and count like an experienced bartender, or the house was just being cheap....) As the night went on, the volume in the main diningroom rose to the point we had to be leaning over the table to hear what the other one was saying. Overall. The food was amazing. The drinks way overpriced for what we received. The service was rough and careless (unfriendly and scarcastic) And noise was way above a normal conversation.... I ended up leaving feeling very let down by such a magnificent looking restaurant with an amazing location... For the $300 tab I paid, I was expecting much much more..... very disappointing overall

The cod was small and way too salty! I couldn’t even eat it. The squash as a side was unevenly cooked, with some pieces too hard to eat. Even the whipping cream on the dessert tasted terrible. Our views were completely blocked by the tenting outside. I have loved this place for a long time, went back, however was concerned about some of the reviews, and now I see why. And with all those food issues, and no view, it was too spendy!

I don't believe I have ever written a bad review for a restaurant before, but I feel it necessary for this one. We had barely ordered our food when the server informed us there was a gas leak next door and we needed to evacuate. I hadn't received my entree and yet she put our full check down for everything we'd ordered and told us she could start boxing up what we had. I understand this was an extenuating circumstance, but it was handled really poorly. I don't know where management was on this, but we really felt this was not handled properly. It was supposedly an emergency, but they still made sure they handed us the full bill before making sure we evacuated. Won't be back.

I really like Westward. Food is inventive, fresh, and delicious. And the service is really good. But, there were some misses. First, we talked with the waiter about coursing out what we ordered, but after we got our oysters to start, the rest of the dishes all arrived within a few minutes. Some hot things, some cold things, all together at the table. That did not feel relaxing. Further, I know things are just more expensive now, but the oysters at $5+ per oyster are just a lot. The food was really good, but only one of the three of us had one cocktail and the bill was $250. Didn't feel like great value. Westward is great to sit outside and get some appetizers on a warm day. But middle of winter, sitting inside, ordering a full meal... I think there are better options.

The seafood tower has barely enough food for 3 people and consisted mainly of spreads and oysters. It could have used some bulking up. The apple cobbler was delicious and the service friendly and attentive. Having been here before, I would recommend sticking with the main entree's.

Had the black cod steak. Lukewarm. Full of bones. Unimpressed for something so expensive. Niece had clams, and spent the next day in bed. Ambience was more like a lunch cafe than a fine dining establishment - chairs squeaking on floors, etc. I'm from out of town and definitely would not go back.

Just needed oysters on a whim before we head back to winter in Palm Springs. Enjoyed the experience, not just the food which was superb, especially the oysters. Can’t beat the ambiance as you take in the city views coming and going. Warm and inviting always inside so don’t skip winter here! Our waiter made the night seem as though we were special guests for the night. Perfect night out for us and our always busy married kids. The highlight of our January at home so many thanks.

Strange/tragic day for me. I had never before been to Westward’s brunch without a substantial line. It was quiet, but it was still a joy. Always the best food and the most comprehensive service. I send any seafood lover who enjoys fine dining straight to Westward.

One of our favorite restaurants in Seattle! We brought friends who were from out of town or had just moved here and they said it was the best food they’d eaten in the city. The service is always great and sitting in the heated tent outside was lovely.

Both the food and ambiance at Westward were excellent. We shared a bunch of plates family style and enjoyed the majority of the dishes available on the menu. A few favorites were the potatoes, raw and baked oysters, and the pork chop.

Probably the most underwhelming $400+ I’ve spent on a meal this year. I have generally liked Westward, especially on their patio in the summer. However, this visit during the winter sitting inside was lackluster. The family wanted seafood, so the four of us decided to go. Not only are the portions for the appetizers just ridiculously small and expensive, ($22 for four baked oysters?) the quality was just so so.. I was excited about the halibut, but it arrived small (probably a 4 ounce portion), and thoroughly overcooked. I politely told the server and she apologized and sent it back. A full 20 minutes later, and mind you there were probably only five seated parties in the entire restaurant, another portion showed up cooked the exact same overcooked and dry. The best part was the pork chop, which two of my daughters had which was spectacular, large, juicy and delicious. How about that for a seafood place!? Everything else was ho-hum, including the Pozole, halibut ceviche (so pricey for 4-5 small pieces of actual halibut surrounded by greens). I wonder what’s going on with Westward because I made our reservation at the last minute and didn’t expect there to be any space, but there was plenty of space and hardly anyone in the restaurant at all.

If you are going to charge so much, 1) at least be a little more welcoming 2) bring out the two main courses at the same time instead of 15 minutes apart, and don’t give a flimsy excuse: “well, the meat dish takes longer to cook than the fish” WHAT? : …! Waiter nowhere to be found while we waited and waited for our check . I had to go find the bartender, who finally brought us the bill. On the way out, I finally locate our waiter . He is at the front desk with the host, both glued to their phones texting away. We exited literally right in front of them and they didn’t even take notice. I just hope they don’t drive that way. At that rate, the only kind of driving they are doing is driving their customers away. But the feeling we left with is that they could care less.

We loved Westward. Oysters were scrumptious, as well as the halibut and posole. We were on the water in a tent, which was cozy, and had a good view. We had excellent service, and the noise level was low and we could all hear each other without a problem. It is a bit pricey, but if one can afford it, it’s worth it!

Ridiculously overpriced mediocre food. Hadn’t been in several years - took a friend for “lunch” and ended up embarrassed and regretful. Limited menu of limited interest. $18 for a half piece of bread covered in egg salad. No salad, no side…. Just sad. We couldn’t wait to leave.

We sat outside in a covered area on uncomfortable metal chairs. For the prices they charge, a cushion or two would have been nice. Our two entrees came ten minutes apart. The halibut was good but basically came with nothing else. Butter was 2nd ingredient in all dishes. Overpriced for what you get. Service was meager.
