The service and atmosphere were on point. A must do when visiting Bardstown.

This restaurant is recently opened and as expected has some improvements that could be made. The ambiance is great as well as the concept. Execution needs some work all around, but it will understandably take time to work it all out. Looking forward to experiencing how this new restaurant improves in the future. Nobody had a bad meal, but it did take a very long time to get everything, including the bread.

New hotel and restaurant are beautiful, we loved the hotel shop and the decor and ambience in the restaurant were very nice. We had drinks at the bar prior to being seated and our bartender was very nice and made great drinks. Once seated it took our server about 10 mins to come to our table and the restaurant was not busy. The food was very good although it took over an hour to get our two dishes which were the filet mignon and roasted chicken. Our server kept disappearing and was not very attentive. The salad came with the dressing I asked for on the side, our drinks were not filled, we had to ask for salt and pepper for our table and we had to ask for steak knives. We had to go to the bar to adjust and pay our bill because our server never returned after placing it on our table. The waitstaff was very young and inexperienced and the hostess barely spoke as we approached the hostess stand to check in. Hopefully with some additional time and training the restaurant staff will improve which will provide a better overall experience. We will return in a few months to give it another try.

We had high hopes for our dinner for two, especially given the $219 price tag. While the steak itself was incredible and the Old Fashioned one of the highlights of the evening, several aspects of the experience fell short of expectations. The two sides—creamed spinach and potatoes—arrived lukewarm, and the fries were noticeably cold, as if they had been sitting out for some time before being served. I prefer my food to be hot, and this was a letdown. Adding to that, we were surprised to find that a sauce for the fries would cost $6, which felt excessive. If there were other selections for sauces without an additional cost, they were not offered. The wait for our food was also longer than expected—about 45 minutes—even though the restaurant didn’t appear particularly busy at the time. I wish there were a few more menu selections, and more reasonably priced salads. The beet salad sounded amazing, but I elected not to order the $17 small portioned salad. We’re more than happy to pay premium prices when the food, service, and overall experience match that level, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case with Oak & Ember. I was a little disappointed in the inattentive service. Another noticeable mention, the wait staff were wearing jeans of all types and that did not match the ambiance the restaurant was going for. Typically there is an overall aesthetic for upscale restaurants. We had dressed up for our date night, and I felt out of place with our attire. I think this one has missed its mark early on. We'll still give them another try in the future.

The service was outstanding, the chef came out to visit each table one at a time. The food exploded with flavor. Definitely a wonderful experience

This is a must go if in Bardstown KY. Not only a great restaurant but fantastic Hotel as well. We had dinner and breakfast and both were fantastic.

The ambience is very nice and the food was prepared as ordered. The pricepoint is on the higher side for the area but overall everything was good
