Pelato, the beloved Brooklyn-Italian restaurant is a family-run eatery offering a memorable dining experience with small plates featuring cherished family recipes. A mural wall adorned with original photographs reflects the family's Brooklyn heritage.

The menu celebrates authentic Italian flavors with a Brooklyn twist, featuring classic dishes like Potato Croquettes, Baked Clams Oreganata, and Chicken Parmigiana, along with house-made pastas. Don't miss the classic desserts like rainbow cookies & zeppoles to complete your meal.
Outdoor dining available year-round in our enclosed, covered, & heated patio.

20% gratuity will be applied to groups of 6 or more. Split checks may be divided up to 4 credit cards at equal value. A corkage fee of $45 per 750ml will be applied to guests bringing their own wine (limit 2 bottles). A dessert plating fee of $5 per person will be applied to any outside desserts. Due to high demand, tables are subject to a 2-hour limit.

Dejennai was an excellent waitress. Warm, friendly, patient and responsive to our needs and questions. Our table of 4 shared everything easily. We enjoyed the burrata crostini, fried calamari that was lightly fried as we asked. Meatballs, broccolini, garlic bread for our starters and pesto, vodka, shrimp limone and bucatini pastas for our mains. Our dessert was the apple upside cake and gelato. Everything was well prepared and tasty. We undoubtedly ordered too much, but it was our first time there and so wanted to try everything! We did manage to devour most of our orders. We also ordered a Gavi and Nero and both bottles were good. The only thing that was a negative was the acoustics in the restaurant were very loud and hopefully the owner will consider some type of ceiling panels remedy for this problem to tone down the noise a bit.

Highly recommend! Such a wonderful idea. Creating small shareable plates is exactly the ideal dining experience. Truly enjoyed being able to sample multiple dishes within one reservation. Service was top notch.

Finally! A truly authentic New York italian restaurant is in Charleston! How long have we been waiting!?? From the attentive service from every person who attended to us, to the wonderful food, the entire evening was charmed. The fresh made house mozzarella was a pillow of lusciousness! The meatballs were divine, but OH, that sauce . . . it was phenomenal. Chicken parm was fabulous as well. Another highlight was the ravioli sheet . . . pure delight! We haven't had ravioli here since we moved from NJ, so we are so happy to know we can get some here. Of course, we had to try some dessert, which included rainbow cookies and the oh so fabulous budino . . . light and chocolatey! This place is amazing, so it's well worth the wait to get a reservation.

Food was out of this world delicious. Our servers were polite and helped us understand serving sizes etc. it was a bit loud but lots of happy people enjoying their great meals.

10/10 food and service! We ordered the arancini balls, potato croquettes, cauliflower, and mushrooms for apps then the Sunday sauce and chicken parm! Everything was amazing we will be back very soon!

Great New Italian Restaurant in Downtown Charleston serving small plates of many Italian Favorites just like Grandma used to make. Special Sunday Gravy only on Sundays a must, Simmering all day with sausage, braciole, meatball and beef ribs. The bread stuffed eggplant was fantastic along with the burrata and Zucchini strips. Staff was friendly and informative and service was on the money. So worth a visit!

Food was fantastic. Love the smaller plates concept. It was definitely very noisy, however, the service was excellent. This is my second time here. Will definitely be back.
