The food wasn’t amazing for the prices. Neither was the service. The air conditioning was broken and had been for awhile and we were not told that in advance.

We can’t decide what was better the food or the service. Joana our server was one of the best we ever had. From excellent suggestions to filling our personal water bottles you can’t ask for more. Can’t go wrong with a free hot cookie for dessert.

From arrival to departure the staff was kind and accommodating. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elevated. The food was delicious and the drinks were as well!

Our servers were friendly and attentive. We started with the bruschetta and it was nicely presented and was good. My son ordered spaghetti and meatballs and I ordered rigatoni with a vodka sauce. I ordered a glass of tuscan wine to enjoy with my meal. Everything arrived and looked great. Two bites into my rigatoni, i saw what I thought was a strand of spaghetti. No big deal, sometimes pastas get mixed. Well i was about to eat it and realized it was not pasta but actually was twine, about 12 inches of twine. If I had actually put this in my mouth I dont think I could have kept my composure. I stopped and waited for the manager who was frequently walking by. I stopped him and he said, oh thats probably from the braised meat. I will get you another one. I dont make big deals about honest mistakes and thought okay, this will be quick. Well my son completely finished his meal and I was out if wine when I received the replacement. I said I would need another glass and proceeded to have my dinner. It was fine. The server asked if we wanted deserts, and we ordered some, afogato and a tiramisu. We were nearly finished when the manager brought us a plate of cannoli’s as his gesture to compensate for the issues. I was really disappointed. Clearly we already had desert. How about stepping up and being a little more intuitive as to what would be appropriate in this situation! For the complete inconvenience of messing up my dinner with my son, who ate his dinner solo and then watched me eat mine! How about offering a glass of wine, or comping the deserts??? Brining a cannoli to a table with empty desert plates and just dropping them off fell way short of the expectations anyone would have from this restaurant. I paid my bill and tipped our server well and left the cannolis. I will not be back and will not recommend this restaurant.

We were excited to discover this place here in DC given that we had the pleasure of experiencing it's sister property in NYC some years ago, so we arrived with great expectations. Expectations frequently end up in disappointment, but that was far from the case in this instance. We decide on staple dishes, Linguini in Clam Sauce and Shrimp Scampi, after opening with the Yellowfin Tuna Carpaccio in olive oil and capers. We ended the meal with the Chocolate Mousse and Lemoncello desserts. Everything was stellar. Cafe Fiorello delivered big time with a meal that was nothing short of sensational in every aspect across every course. DC has a number of excellent Italian restaurants that we've enjoyed for years, but this place is now our new favorite.

AMAZING food! We went out with a full Italian guy and he said it was the best chicken parm he has had after his mother’s! Great service as well :)
