First of all, the service and food were fabulous. Our waiter immediately congratulated us on our 30th anniversary (I had noted it when making our reservation) and worked hard to make my specialty drink. My filet mignon was melt-in-your-mouth perfection and my husband loved his swordfish. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant. The website touts the fabulous views that harken back to yesteryear. However, the sea views were obstructed by an event on the lawn that had loud music playing and plenty of through traffic. Not the relaxing, romantic atmosphere I was hoping for.

Anthony from Niagara Falls was a terrific waiter! He was very kind, patient, and courteous. It was our first time at Veranda, and it was a great experience.

Great food! Very amazing night. Staff was very friendly. It felt as if I were at a Michelin star restaurant. By far one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in in SoCal!

I really wanted to like the Veranda. Having never been to the Hotel del Coronado, I was expecting a true fine-dining experience with amazing views. The food and service were both good, but everything else was very disappointing. The valet was expensive, slow, and disorganized. The view was blocked by so many people and activities in the lawn between the restaurant and the beach. At fine dining prices, I would've expected an elevated atmosphere. Instead, every table in the place had small children, crying, screaming, staring at Ipads, and throwing food on the floor. The place was so loud and busy. The glass on the side of our booth had disgusting greasy hand smudges all over it, clearly a kid having some sort of unsupervised fun before us. I'm surprised no one tried to clean it up before seating us. This was just a very expensive Chuck-E-Cheese with good food and drinks. The Veranda won't be on my list when I'm looking for a nice night out.

The menu was EXTREMELY limited. The food was mediocre at best. The service was slow (we were seated for nearly 25 min. before a waiter stopped by). The ambience was just ok…..overall, it was not a good experience.

Veranda was the perfect place for our family celebration of our nieces college graduation. It was beautiful, service was great and food as delicious and all exactly as ordered. Thank you!

Beuatifful location, very comfortable, and our server was pleasant and knowledgeable. We got the swordfish and the Mac and cheese with the half lobster tail. The bread appetizer was delicious. But the meals were ok. It was good, but for the price was expecting a delectable meal. I think we will try another venue when we return to Coronado.

Our first time eating here was Saturday. I was there with three friends for a little reunion. Our waiter, Mago, was amazing and gave us such a special experience. He asked all of our names when he first came to the table and addressed each of us by name the whole time. We laughed a lot together and with him, we loved the menu, the food and the ambiance. And the view! Such a great evening all around. I highly recommend it.
