Literally translating to "Trust The Chef Please," Chef Jeana Pecha's "Omakase Por Favor" is thrilled to open our second location in Midtown, Sacramento. We combine the best of Global and Coastal Mexican flavors with the immersive Japanese Omakase dining experience. We had a spectacular lunch yesterday at Omakase Por Favor. The idea of blending Mexica and Japanese ingredients and styles appealed greatly to us, and we were not at all disappointed. Our server, friendly and humorous, met us at the door and seated us, and we were immediately comfortable in the modern but somewhat spare dining room. The meal that followed met all of our wildest hopes. A tuna tostada subtly blended the two cuisines, while a Truffled Tuna Tataki stayed true to Japan, albeit with a ponzu sauce (house-made) added complexity to an already delicious dish. For those who want to sample more, OPF has a 2-for-$25 deal that gives you half portions of two dishes. On the whole, a wonderful experience.

Tried this restaurant on recommendation from server at a different restaurant as well as the reviews. Overall it was a let-down, especially the Omakase, perhaps because of our expectations going in. There was a dearth of fish and of the 6-courses one was a salad! No nigiri. No sashimi. 2 crudo dishes and the most enjoyable in my opinion was the poke with the churro-like durro. The sake pairing cost as much as the Omakase which was definitely not reflected in the minuscule pours. We felt the small seafood platter was a much better value even though the lobster was over cooked and rubbery. The standout of the evening was Demetri the maitre'd. I think if you set realistic expectations you may be pleasantly surprised however we felt we have been spoiled with our Omakase experiences elsewhere and unfortunately we have yet to find any establishment locally but that is part of the enjoyment of the hunt.

After seeing a few posts on Instagram we knew we wanted to try Omakase Por Favor Midtown for brunch. Until yesterday we had only visited the Lincoln location. We had the most fantastic meal ever! The Brekki Sando was even tastier than the Instagram photo which is really saying something. Chef Jeana also whipped us up some tostadas which were to die for. The wasabi tequila cocktail was perfection as well. Chef and her staff are engaging and very fun to chat with. We didn’t realize they close at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays but everyone made us feel completely welcomed and not at all rushed. We loved it so much we went to the Lincoln location for dinner that night. These restaurants are such a find!!! Fans for life!

Every bite was deliciously crafted. We chose this place randomly since their food pictures looked good, but we were blown away with how tasty everything was, we will definitely be going back, and often.

I tried Omakase por favor on a friends. recommendation. I was not disappointed. The food was fresh, creative and delicious. Service was excellent . I received an excellent wine recommendation from the sommelier. She was very knowledgable and friendly. All things considered it was a very enjoyable experience. Can’t wait to go back.

We celebrated a friend’s birthday here and really enjoyed it. The service was amazing and we especially enjoyed Tayler’s sake expertise and pairing.

Professional service from all. Food was excellent pace of each course was very well done. The marshmallow s’more’s desert is a must. Highly recommend.

Overall a great restaurant trying to serve up some delicious and creative food. It was our second time there, had some hiccups, but this is a promising restaurant we hope to see grow and survive in Sacramento!
