Beauty & Essex has an innovative design that starts in the Pawn Shop, complete with vintage treasures and curated contemporary pieces. The host greets you in the Jewelry Box and takes you past upholstered walls into the Pearl Lounge and bar. Then you’ll find the Peacock Dining Room and the Locket Private Dining Room separated by a screen wall of antique frames. Each of these rooms are inspired by the delicate yet glamorous details of jewelry.

The cuisine, much like the design, is intended to set a new course with unique shareable dishes and twists on classic cocktails. Acclaimed chef and co-creator Chris Santos was one of the pioneers of the small, share plate dining trend that has swept the nation, and with the Beauty & Essex menu, he once again has created waves on the food scene.

    The place is gorgeous... The service was very good....Most of the food was exceptional... The only issue was the French dip.... 2 of the servings were not optimum.....perhaps the tail end of the roast, or something. They were medium well and very tough... I really should have sent it back. Other than that it was really good !

    It was our first time there. Everything was great. The portions were normal sized and the food was prepared perfectly! We will definitely be back.

    We had the scallop dish and it was delicious. It was changed from risotto to orzo but still delicious.

    Beauty & Essex absolutely blew us away. We came in as a large party of 11 (originally reserved for 10), and not only did they accommodate the last-minute addition with grace, but it was clear they put in serious effort behind the scenes to make it happen. We were so grateful! The real standout of the night was our waiter, Rocco! truly exceptional. He single-handedly curated the entire menu for our group, recommending a perfectly balanced selection of dishes that hit every craving and dietary need. From start to finish, not one person at the table was left unsatisfied -- everyone was raving by the end of the meal. Absolutely delicious, with a variety that kept things exciting and sharable. The space was spotless, the vibe was fun and upscale without being pretentious, and every staff member we encountered was warm and attentive. To top it all off, they brought out adorable mini cakes for the three birthday guests in our party -- If you're looking for a place that knows how to handle a crowd, delivers on quality and hospitality, and makes you feel genuinely welcomed, Beauty & Essex is it. Highly, highly recommend.

    We went for our anniversary to have the baked stuffed lobsters but the waitress said they were out of season I laughed at that statement and the she said it was only a special when they first opened Then I got the order of fried whole belly clams and they were burnt I ate some and then left Never would i return

    As it was advertised as a speakeasy, I was quite disappointed that it really was not and that it was small plates. However, our waiter Jonathan was very good at detailing the menu for us and the food was very good. Some dishes were larger portions than others ie the lobster mac and cheese, swordfish and the fried eggplant. Definitely get those. Chicken meatballs were also very good but only 3. Ravioli was just OK but there were 6. Decor is lovely.

    We found Beauty and Essence to be a great choice for dinner before our show. The waitress was friendly and efficient, the food tasteful and well presented, and ambience had a Gatsby vibe.

    The food was overcooked cold I was so disappointed as it was my first visit. I was looking forward to it. I will not be returning and neither of my friends.

    Incredible dining experience and superb service! The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure those that had allergies in our party were well taken care of. We shared quite a few appetizers, mains and dessert and every dish was great!
