When I first arrived at Cavalier for Sunday brunch, I was genuinely impressed by the atmosphere—the jazz band was a nice touch, and the ambiance felt inviting. Unfortunately, that initial impression was quickly overshadowed by a deeply off-putting experience. I ordered a vanilla cappuccino, and to my disgust, as I took a sip, a long blonde hair was stuck to the rim of the cup. While I understand that hair can occasionally slip through even in the best environments, it was still incredibly unappetizing. I calmly explained the situation to the manager when they brought out my avocado toast, returned the cappuccino, and asked for a new one. To my absolute disbelief, as I looked down at the avocado toast, I found yet another hair embedded in the food. At that point, it was clear this wasn’t just an unfortunate one-off—it was unacceptable. I asked for the manager to return, handed back the dish, and promptly left the restaurant without eating or drinking anything. Finding hair in both my drink and my food was not only disappointing—it was unsanitary and completely ruined what could’ve been an enjoyable brunch.

This has been my favorite restaurant in SA since they opened. The service is exceptional, they always have a changing menu and the dishes are beautifully elevated and delicious. Last night we had the Canadian oysters and the roasted fig and prosciutto flat bread to start and then the salmon and sea bass for meals and like all the other times I’ve eaten here it was a chefs kiss 💋

It was amazing, loved the live jazz music. Brunch time on Sunday best time to go.

The Jazz Brunch was totally enjoyable. The Salmon Lox Bagel Sandwich and Brisket Hash were excellent and Arturo, the bartender, indulged us by making the Bloody Mary mix to our specifications. Complementary valet parking is an added plus.

It was not the usual brunch The server was rushing and did not really interact with customer, food choice was from a menu (not much variety) and not a buffet Ambience is musty, not as depicted online. Definitely won’t be back, not worth paying for. The only good thing is the easy valet parking

We had an 8:30 reservation, and just left at 10:30. Our food was all very poor (very overcooked), but we choked down everything we could with the exception of one inedible chicken breast. Everyone has a bad night, and they appeared to be running skeletal crew. The manager on duty came to the table around 10 PM. She apologized for the timing, discounted the ticket, and offered us two free desserts. We had not made a big deal out of the poor quality of the food, so we thanked her. I appreciated the gesture, and we were just going to call it a bad night unfortunately, it took an additional 20 minutes to bring out the pre-prepared desserts. It was so bad that I finally stood up and just found a waiter to bring us a bill and told them to forget the desserts. about five minutes later they actually came to the table so we took them to go. I hate to review anything poorly, but this was bad from a service, quality and price perspective.

Experience, staff, and food here were excellent. I was greeted promptly and was seated and immediately greeted by my server who was enthusiastic, friendly, and offered his suggestions based on what he enjoyed. Service throughout was timely, the manager checked in on me to ensure I was taken care of and food was amazing. Beef Tartare served in a marrow bone was rich and delicious. The server suggested the brussels sprouts and they didn't disappoint. The Coq Au Vin was the best I've ever had. Definitely a don't miss dining experience.

Ambience was good, great music, ordered the three items and the BEST item was the Banana Fosters French Toast. I would go back just for that. The other items were the chicken and biscuit, was so-so, the burger was "ok". The acoustics made the music a bit loud, had to talk y loud for friend to hear me but other than that, it was good. affordable and would return.

The Eggs Benedict, Croque Madame, and the Jazz band at Brunch were outstanding. However we ordered a Bloody Mary and Maria's Ghost (a Bloody Mary with Tequila) without tabasco. They were delivered with a heavy batch of tabasco. The server told us that they only come with a Bloody Mary mix that includes tabasco. We talked to the bartender and he volunteered to replace them with a scratch made mix and the drinks were excellent.
