Welcome to Il Gusto Restaurant and Wine Bar, Cheshire's newest Italian dining experience, brought to you by restaurateur Gina Baca and Frederico Agraja, the chef and owner of the acclaimed Adriana's Restaurant and Wine Bar in New Haven. Situated at the historic location of the former Waverly Inn at 286 Maple Ave., Il Gusto revives a cherished local landmark, combining the rich heritage of its predecessor with the vibrant flavors of modern Italian cuisine. Il Gusto will feature a menu reminiscent of Adriana's, offering a delectable selection of traditional and contemporary Italian dishes. With seating for over 220 guests and a spacious banquet room, we are the perfect venue for dining, parties, meetings, and special events. Our goal is to preserve the history of the Waverly Inn by showcasing framed photographs of the original establishment, creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere for our guests.

Needed a half way point too meet friends... Picked this as the menu looked like it had many options for all types of eaters.. The salads came out and one was enough for two.... We thought ... interesting. Then the dinners came out and they were also huge.... I asked is this supposed to be family style? So if your going just know this in advance.

We went to celebrate a birthday. Food was delicious and server was attentive. Have been there probably 4 times and food has been consistently delicious and portions are generous. Try the fish specials!

This was our first visit to Il Gusto. We were impressed with the quality wine list, great variety of appetizers and the awesome fresh pasta entrees. The price was reasonable, the staff was pleasant and attentive and the food presentation was imaginative. This restaurant is everything you could want for a great evening. We will be back!

The prep of the pasta in the Parm wheel is special. Pouring glasses of wine from 3ft high is pretty cool. The seafood salad is exceptional Great experience

This was our second time visiting and once again it was great. The food is more than enough, always leftovers for the next day. The service is great. Nora does an excellent job and is a pleasure to have as our server. The manager is friendly like all of the other employees. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the bathrooms are spotless. We enjoyed our time and will return soon. Thanks

This restaurant has been open a few months. The food is amazing and everything we have ordered is beautifully presented. The few minor issues regarding service will be worked out over time.
