The food was outstanding. Our server was very nice and on point but the recommendations she gave felt like they were exclusively either the market price options or the most expensive selections. It was a bit humorous. Though it could quite likely be that the best options were indeed the priciest, to be fair. The issue we had with the service was actually not the server but the host who sat us down. We booked a table for a special occasion and upon arrival were asked if we wanted a high top table or to be seated in the dining room. He said “I may be able to get you a table in the dining room I’ll have to check” but gave us both options. So we took a look and the dining aRea appeared a bit more intimate. There were only 3 occupied tables back there , as it was a Monday night, and it remained that way with one party leaving and another arriving. So felt a bit silly that he made it sound like it was a full house. Then, rather than give us one of the better corner booths we were seated in a booth adjacent to another party. Very strange. I would suggest to management that when the place is almost empty, tell your host/hostess to give the best tables first, or at least present the option. For what they charge the food was worth it but the service in that front…was not.

Top Quality, Perfect Taste, and High Price Food: the sashimi (all fish) are very fresh and of high quality and prepared properly and expertly. We tried 4 different sashimi pieces, all perfect We tried three different rolls, all excellent taste and creative The shishito pepper is excellent option for vegetables The only dish we did not like is the Miso shrimp… we expected tempura shrimp, but instead dish was with small battered and fired small shrimp… too greasy and heavy. Left most of it untouched few bite sufficed. The yuzu key lime pie was excellent taste and edible art to end a very please pricy meal. Drinks: good cocktails, nothing exceptional but way overpriced. Service: before 6:30 are prompt and attentive. After that expect major wait and delay. Ambience/atmosphere: very nice energetic and modern place. Value: you pay for the high quality and excellent preparation Overall rating! 4.5 out of 5 Recommendations: for better service and extra attention to drinks and food, dine at earlier hours not the peak… specifically on the weekend. Best before 6:30 pm. Prepare to pay higher price than usually do for other same type of cuisine.

Came here with my boyfriend for my birthday and had a very delicious and impressive dinner. The sea bass was amazing! Our server Jacob was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend aker!

Brought my wife her birthday. We left very happy about how everything was. Service was great. Food was a 9 out of 10. And honestly pretty well priced. Good value

Overall experience was pretty bad. We started by being seated in a table where the sun was shining directly into our eyes, after asking to move service was a no show finally took our drinks order which took a long time to arrive. Food quality is not the best either, plates didn’t arrive in order, after having to wait to order for a second drink our sake showed up as we ordered the bill and to make things worst the restaurant didn’t even acknowledge our anniversary which was noted on the initial reservation.

First visit and it was AMAZING! truly one of the best rolls I’ve ever had! We shared many dishes and every single thing was delicious! The butter cake didn’t blow my mind like everything else but it was still good. This restaurant is gorgeous inside and located right in the heart of downtown. Give it a try

I did a reservation for this “hot spot” in downtown for my best friend birthday. I wanted to pick something new and great in food quality. First of all, I called the restaurant as soon as they opened so I can drop of the cake for that night’s celebration, they were very unresponsive through their phone and even throughout the open table app. I had to go there in person with the cake and asked. The lead server was very nice and I helped me out to accommodate that. I left her a note that the cake was for my reservation and to remark that we have for a birthday that day. Later on when we went, the server opened up 2 bottles of sparkling water without asking the table which we didn’t even drink because we were only 3 people and mostly drinking cocktails. After that we order a few appetizers and asked the waiter for recommendations but she did not know the menu which was okay.. but situation started getting annoying when we requested the sever not to bring all appetizers at the same time since the table was small but still she did not listen. She did not know how to place the plates in the table or even organize it in a good way. It was very uncomfortable.. we ordered the bone marrow which was dry and with all honestly coming from the east coast one of the worst bone marrow dishes I have ever had, we had the oysters which were not too bad except for the fact that they were extremely satly and finally we ordered shrimp and veggies temperature from which we only got 2 shrimps. The worst part of this was the bone marrow it was definitely a disappointment we asked the sever to take it back and the manager came to apologies but to be honest I wish I never took my best friend there for her birthday dinner. We didn’t get any additional dishes and decided to go to TAKASHI which is not a fancy place but has great quality of food and flavor and the service is amazing! I wouldn’t recommend this place to any person that knows about good quality food.. Food looks good but tastes bad.
