I had so much fun with my friend. Unfortunately I forgot our server’s name but she was very attentive and a blast to have. I would definitely come again.

Very over priced, took an hour to be seated, charged 22 dollars for water. It was very loud also.

Walking into Toca Madera Houston, I was immediately impressed by the atmosphere—it’s stylish and energetic, with a vibe that’s both upscale and welcoming. The interior is gorgeous, mixing modern touches with natural elements, and the lighting gives the whole place a cool, sophisticated feel. The menu really stood out to me. I loved that they focus on modern Mexican cuisine using organic and sustainable ingredients. The American Wagyu Flaming Tomahawk was a showstopper—not only did it look amazing (it actually arrives at your table on fire!), but it tasted incredible, too. I also tried the truffle mac and cheese, which was rich and creamy, and the sea bass tacos, which were packed with fresh, bold flavors. For dessert, the brown butter cake was the perfect sweet finish.

First I will tell you the only good.. the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The food is very mediocre and everything in the restaurant is priced ridiculously high. No wine for less than $100 a bottle, we ordered a small container of butter to put on our steaks and were charged $20, we ordered tap water and were charged $11 a bottle for three bottles of water. The service staff was pleasant but perilously slow. I didn't care for the attitude in the entire restaurant. We will never be back!

I came for a celebration dinner and the experience was incredible. Rico made the experience everything and more and the food was fantastic. The ambience of the restaurant was so romantic yet exciting and entertaining. Money well spent! One of my favorite dining experiences

This was our first time attending Toca Madera and we were celebrating my husband and best friend's birthday. We were able to get a table really quickly (I had made reservations earlier). We took advantage of the Happy Hour drinks. The drinks were delicious, however the service to get them was slow. Granted the restaurant was busy as it was a friday early evening. We are vegetarians, so we ordered several different plates to get a feel for the food. 1. Queso - Very greasy, cheese was good but other than that lacked flavor. 2. Mushroom Tacos - There were only 2, considering the amount of food and pricing, the quality (taste) was not there. They were bery bland and the mushrooms were greasy too. 3. Quesadillas (mushrooms) - $37 for 4 quesadilla slices, understandable this is marketed as a luxury dining experience. Decent flavor to this, the sauces added to that. Again, dripping oil. Best parts: 1. Ambiance - Beautiful restaurant, very much worth the pictures and gives a luxury feel to it. 2. Salsa & Chips - addicting, especially the pico de gallo style. 3. Drinks - fairly decent tasting drinks - on the weaker side though (fine for a light weight drinker). Go here for the drinks and ambiance! The vegetarian menu needs some work.

This was our third visit to the restaurant, and sadly, it will likely be our last. Despite having a reservation, we waited nearly 45 minutes to be seated, which set a disappointing tone for the evening. While the food itself was great—as we’ve come to expect—the service fell short. It felt rushed and impersonal, lacking the attentiveness and professionalism one would anticipate at a restaurant of this caliber. We came hoping for a memorable dining experience, but instead, it felt transactional: food was delivered, water refilled frequently, and drinks brought with no real engagement from the staff. No one checked in or asked if we needed anything else. A place like this should offer more than just good food—it should deliver hospitality.
