Inspired by American mid-century continental-style fine dining, VULTURE is a resurrected institution of yesteryear, revisited through the eclectic possibility of today. Elegant, inventive plant-based dishes honor the sophistication of the past and reveal the daring potential of the present. Classic and forgotten cocktails are reclaimed and re-oriented, dignity intact but with charm and character amplified.

VULTURE is a fertile oasis, a secluded nest amidst arid convention. You will be roused by its audacious originality and comforted by its strange familiarity. It is the home of the best dinner party of your life, and the most fussed over Martini in the city.

VULTURE isn’t just another vegan spot. It’s a full-blown experience. And honestly? It’s coming for the crown. We kicked things off with a trio of apps that set the tone right away. The Parker House rolls were soft, warm, and straight-up addictive. The pâté was creamy, earthy, just the right amount of rich. But the crab cake, made with hearts of palm, stole the show. It somehow nailed that classic crab cake texture and flavor without any actual crab. If no one told you, you’d never guess. For mains, the Chef’s Special pasta hit every note. Vibrant, rich, and fully satisfying. Then there’s the Diane. An 8oz lion’s mane mushroom grown locally just for the restaurant. They treat it like a steak, and it shows. Charred, meaty, savory. It's kind of mind-blowing, actually. Dessert? Baked Alaska, baby. Torch-blazed at the table, dramatic as hell, but still light and not over-the-top sweet. It was the perfect finish. Service was sharp and friendly without hovering. The kitchen was locked in all night. And the vibe? Sleek, a little moody, full of personality. Big shoutout to the 80s soundtrack. It wasn’t just background noise. It helped set the whole scene. VULTURE is proof that vegan food doesn’t need a qualifier. It’s just damn good. Chef Pancho and the team are doing something special here. You can taste it. San Diego, heads up. VULTURE isn’t just on the map. It’s leading.

Delicious drinks and vegan food! Do yourself a favor and order a martini with brine and the bbq meatballs, you’ll thank me later ;)

This place has some cool, elevated vegan dining and cocktail options. Reservations were easy to make, book in advance. There was a short wait before we got our table, but not to fear you can order drinks at the diner bar in the front at DREAMBOAT. (The cocktail/food list is different between the two areas btw). Wait staff was super busy, and it took a bit to get a server but they were very attentive once they got to us. Food was delicious (we ordered the Rockefeller and French onion soup) and cocktails had some unique spins. $17 average cocktails. Biggest room for improvement is the ambiance and comfort. The music was really loud and didn't match the vibe at all. I felt like I had to yell at my husband, who was literally sitting right next to me... the two person half moon booths with the eye-shaped tables are way too small for two adults. Our legs were falling asleep and our legs and arms kept bumping... it's also kinda awkward to be sitting on the same side of the table, looking across to the other couples sitting on their same side of the table looking back at you...? They definitely chose esthetics over comfort, for sure. It's not romantic enough of an environment to have people sitting like that... Not sure if we will be back to the restaraunt, but I do look forward to checking out Dreamboat!

We came for our anniversary dinner. It was so sweet they had placed a card with the staff's signatures. Lovely way to kick things off. The drinks were delicious (and boozie, as we prefer) and the food was delicious. THE FRENCH ONION SOUP WAS AMAZING AND HONESTLY SO MEATY! I missed this soup since no longer eating meat and this was a spiritual experience. We will be back! Honestly, I am a fangirl of these restaurant creatives and will support just about any venture they have because the food is always so good and the drinks even better at their other location kindred. keep the coolest vegan bars coming!

The picture of the food you will find online don’t do the food justice. If you’ve been to kindred and you enjoyed it than you will definitely enjoy Voltaire! I can’t wait to go back!

The experience was lovely however open table offered me a reservation at 7 pm instead of 10 pm and penalized me for taking the reservation even though it was through the app.

We had a truly incredible experience at Vulture. The space is gorgeous, the staff are stellar, and the food is beyond. The 8oz Lions Mane “steak” is mind blowing. SD’s vegan scene has gotten so much stronger over the last decade - but this is on another level.

The crab cakes, hash browns, and bolognese were great. I would skip the Rockefeller - the chips were thick and odd and the spinach dip was weirdly bitter.

Ambience was beautiful, food was delicious. Lily took great care of us! The Tiny tini was phenomenal- and the baked alaska was to die for!!
