    Gorgeous location, especially on a beautiful night. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. Food was lackluster in fl, came out lukewarm and lacked seasoning. We had a party of six, ate appetizers and dinner, bill was over $800.00. For that price I expect the food to be exceptional

    This was a very disappointing brunch experience. We were the first table seated for Sunday brunch. Our table for four did not really offer much of a view. The food was very bland and lukewarm. We are not foodie types. We all ordered eggs and bacon so the bar was relatively low. $200 brunch for coldish food and sluggish service with no view. We could have picked 100 other restaurants in DC that offer MUCH better.

    Quality dropped and become noticeable. I get it was Friday night but smudged cocktails low quality glasses for 35$ each long wait and attitude from the greeter not acceptable. Especially if you staying at the hotel as a guest and paying 600$ a night and 300$ food bill you would expect nicer expience.

    I requested their signature cocktail and for $28 I expected something very special. But it was just ok, not anything more than that. Staff were nice, but I was not satisfied with the service and they were somehow slow.

    I booked a table for 4 at the Vue on 6/14. I paid a $50 charge per person (plus $20 fee) presumably because there would be a partial view of the Army parade that day. The reservation was at 6pm and specified a 2hr limit. When we arrived we waited in line for the elevator. When we reached the attendant directing people onto the elevator, she directed us to an elevator that didn't get to the floor that the restaurant was on. Several others on the elevator were going to the same place. We all went back down to the lobby and waited again. Once we finally arrived upstairs we were checked in and told that we didn't have a reservation for a table, but for a specific area cordoned off for people to view the fireworks that weren't happening until 8:30 or 9pm. (The res specified a 2hour limit)There were no chairs. Just standing room and a bar. So we paid 220 to stand. We were able to order from the menu, which no one told us but we eventually figured out, but had to eat standing. With 2 children. All of the people we encountered that were directing things were not helpful. It was very disorganized. I overheard at least 2 conversations with other people that had the same issue and I'm guessing we weren't the only ones. The bartender was quick at least. The food was subpar and all was very overpriced, which is expected from a hotel. Overall, I would call this bad customer service from a business in hospitality. No class.

    A Complete Birthday Disaster — Misleading, Mismanaged, and a Total Rip-Off. This was supposed to be a special birthday celebration. I flew in from Cleveland specifically for this night — spending my own money and time — all because Vu Rooftop Bar’s website blatantly advertised “prime access to the action” for the historic U.S. Army 250th parade and fireworks. I even called multiple times before buying two overpriced tickets ($55 each) just to confirm what was promised online: parade views, rooftop access, the whole experience. What did I actually get? Chaos, confusion, and zero parade. We arrived early, hoping to get settled and enjoy the spectacle. Instead, we walked around only to discover there was absolutely NO vantage point anywhere to see the parade. When I questioned the staff, they brushed me off — telling me flat out, “Oh, you can’t see the parade, just the fireworks.” I literally pulled up THEIR OWN WEBSITE on my phone and showed it to the employee. She shrugged and said, “No, it doesn’t say that.” It absolutely does. I copied it word for word: “Join us in the heart of D.C. on June 14 as the city honors 250 years of the U.S. Army with a historic military parade featuring thousands of soldiers, tanks, flyovers, and more… rooftop views, and prime access to the action.” Blatant false advertising. After paying for an overpriced, underwhelming meal, we were told we only had 90 minutes at the table before being rudely kicked out because “someone else is waiting.” Where exactly were we supposed to go? “You can stand over there, and maybe the private room will open soon,” they said. That room didn’t open until 7:45 PM — well after the parade ended — because, surprise! There was a private wedding party occupying it for the entire parade time. Meanwhile, the staff had no clue what was going on. We asked multiple people what the plan was, and they either shrugged shrugged or gave conflicting answers. The whole event was a mess: bars closed when we arrived!
