Nestled within The Flat Iron Hotel, a historic boutique hotel in Asheville, North Carolina, Luminosa's carefully designed space radiates a welcoming tavern ambiance. Our culinary heart is a wood-burning oven, infusing a "touch of fire" into handmade pizzas, house-made pastas, and locally sourced vegetables.     This was my 3rd dining experience at Luminosa and I think it was the best one yet! Can’t wait to bring my oldest daughter for a special treat this summer!

    Food was delish but the portions were so so small. Barely covered the bottom of the bowl. Pasta costs 25 cents and again I think there was like 25 pieces of rigatoni

    We loved our evening at Luminosa! The atmosphere was very chic, the cocktails were creative and our meals were delicious. We had the Rigatoni and a yummy pizza with a cured pork, peaches, smoked mozzarella and pickled red onion. Perfect sweet and savory and a crispy, thin crust.

    My wife and I, in town from Houston visiting family, had dinner to celebrate her birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make the dinner special. Jamie our server was wonderful. We ordered the bread service and bone marrow tater tot’s to start. My wife remarked that the sourdough may have been the best bread she has ever had. We ordered the mezzaluna, gnocchi, sprouting cauliflower, and polenta for our meals. My wife loved the flavorful mezzaluna. I preferred the gnocchi. It was perfectly puffy, less dense than most gnocchi I have had and I loved the light char on top from the wood burning oven. For me though, the best bite I had was the polenta. It was incredibly rich and flavorful with more complexity than you might expect. We finished by sharing the sassafras panda cotta. It was a perfect ending to the experience. Not too heavy, perfectly ripe strawberries and a subtle sassafras flavor to the custard. We absolutely loved our meals and will be recommending Luminosa to all our family and friends in the area and any of our Texan neighbors who might be traveling to Asheville.
