Opening April 1st, 2025, the 1933 Lounge by St. Elmo brings its signature blend of post-Prohibition elegance, opulence, and intrigue to downtown Carmel, Indiana. The speakeasy-style lounge offers a unique dining experience. complemented by a robust selection of wine, bourbon, and craft cocktails.
This sister restaurant to the famous St. Elmo Steak House, shares a few classic dishes (such as the St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail and prime-aged steaks), while offering more menu variety. 1933 Lounge by St. Elmo is locally owned and operated. 1933 by St Elmo ONLY ALLOWS PATRONS of 21 YEARS of AGE or OLDER with a valid ID.

Went for our anniversary to this restaurant for the first time. Fabulous decor and when booking thru Open Table, I always get the best seat. Saw some table set ups that seemed too close to each other. Food and Steaks were exactly what I would expect of a great steakhouse. Watch out for water choices though. The waitress asked if we wanted complimentary water, still or sparkling. I misunderstood and thought the water was complimentary, but they were 3 distinct choices! So we had a charge of $9 for a bottle of still water.

The food and ambience is first rate as always! Absolutely love 1933 in Carmel, the only disappointing thing was the service. Our waitress just wasn’t as attentive or with it as I’m used to having at this restaurant. Didn’t clear dirty dishes, didn’t bring us water, disappeared for long periods of time where we couldn’t get things. She crazily messed up our bill and was persuading us to split the bill instead of doing things separately for us. It was a huge hassle. I really put a damper on the night. But that is not the norm. I recommend 1933!

Had an amazing time here! Went for date night on a Saturday evening and it was the spot to be. Can’t wait to come back!

Great vibe, beautiful decor , cocktails amazing. Member of our party ordered a slider that was overcooked & was scolded for how she ordered, did not eat it & no attempt to bring a new one + we were charged (1st world problem). Not cool for a $600 tab but will definitely go back & learn from that encounter.

Very upscale & trendy. Didn’t like table set up after a request was placed weeks in advance. Service was great until it wasn’t. Overall good. Food very good as hoped. Lounge is appropriate description.

First visit to 1933 and was not disappointed! The food and service (thanks DJ) was excellent! This was a luncheon, so looking forward to our dinner experience in the very near future!

The restaurant is beautiful, the service is attentive and our meal was excellent — but the loud music ruins the experience. You can’t hear the servers or your companions. They were kind enough to turn it down a bit, but it’s such a strange choice for an upscale menu. It’s not a singles bar.

Food service was amazing - arrived at 5:15 on a Thursday in hopes to grab a drink before dinner - the place was packed and seating was not an option - other than that the evening was amazing.
