   Celebrated our moms birthday with what he had planned to be a great dinner. Bread and cocktails were stellar and it was all down hill from there. The our apps came out and every single one them were a miss. The beet salad, with oddly cut wedges of unseasoned beets, left us looking for the vinaigrette to save it, but that two was lacking in seasoning. The duck confit was seasoned well, but only some of the meat was edible. The outside was was dry and inedible. The accompanying salad was it saving grace. The crabcake needed everything there was a sauce under the greens that we didn’t discover till after we ate the crab cake, but it wouldn’t have mattered. Now disappointed we hoped that our entrees could make up. The red snapper was cooked to perfection, but the olive and roughly cut vegetables on top didn’t work for it. The half chicken too was cooked well but the theme here is needed seasoning, the jus under the chicken was a beautiful pan sauce that again needed something. Our last entree was the ny strip with au poive and fries. Perfect cook, lack of seasoning. I’m going to chalk it up to the the kitchen staff maybe having COVID and couldn’t taste anything?

   Excellent menu for restaurant week. I had crispy calamari and salmon. My wife had crab cake and pasta with lobster. We split the 18 layer chocolate cake which was huge and not overly sweet. Service was outstanding. One complaint was the noise level. We reserved a table at 5 pm on a Sunday to hope for a quiet dinner. It was very loud on the 2 nd floor. There is a quiet section on the first floor that we will ask for next time

   The food was great, the music was WAY too loud. I couldn’t hear the people at my table unless we leaned in towards each other. The food was delicious, the appetizers were good for sharing and the steak and fish dishes we had were good. The wait staff that helped us to as great and attentive. The host that greeted us was quite rude and unhelpful.

   This is my third time here and I brought my husband this time. Brian was our server, he’s great. The food was excellent as always. The upstairs is my favorite

   First off, this place is beautiful, ambience gorgeous, service is five star, top shelf white glove type. The food is SOLID. Not “oh my god amazing”, but very good. But 100% NOT worth the price of what the food cost. 16-20$ for sides? Gimme a break. Way too expensive, it’s ensignia prices. The drinks, also over priced for measured pours. Overall I would go back there for maybe an occasion like a birthday or something where I expect to pay big money. But to go there for just a few drinks w friends, you have to be wealthy. And they don’t care, because the place was packed. Great ambience, great service, good food, bring ur wallet. I would definitely check out there happy hour, those prices actually look amazingly low.

   The food took forever to come out and it was way too noisy. As far as the quality of food goes, it was good, but I’m not rushing back.

   Disappointing at Best! Arrived for anniversary reservation at 6pm. They tried to seat us at the front door. I nicely requested a different table and was denied. I strongly suggested they check again. Was then seated upstairs at first table. Dining room was practically empty. We felt ignored and mistreated. The food, atmosphere & service was very good. Definitely been to better places. Probably won’t return.

    Very organized and everything went smoothly. Waitress and bus boys were outstanding, friendly and attentive. Food was very good although the only thing I would say is the roasted potatoes were very much overdone. The 18 layer cake was a picture. All and all my husband and I enjoyed our date night at the James.
