We arrived to have dinner prior to a concert. The place was nice and clean. Waitstaff was very friendly and very attentive. A few minutes after we placed our order our waiter came back and told us that they had run out of a particular dish on their menu (Grilled Octopus). Not sure how a restaurant "runs out" of a seafood dish on their menu (especially in Ironbound Newark) but regardless, we went ahead and ordered another dish on their menu (Seafood Mariscada) and to please leave out the parsley garnish (I had mentioned this 2X) since my wife HATES parsley. Our dish came out WITH PARSLEY.. LOL! The waiter was just dumfounded and quickly ran back to have another dish made. I'll just go ahead and chalk this up to a language barrier misunderstanding. I have to say they definitely made up for it on Seafood Mariscada's 2nd go around; more of everything in it. We also ordered their Fried Calamari as appetizers.. Nothing impressive or to write home about since I felt like they came out of a supermarket bag. Sorry, but you did ask for my review.. I do have to say, their caipirinha was AMAZING! Would we return to this place? Probably yes. However, I would definitely call ahead to see if they ran out of a particular dish you might've seen on their menu before hand, that you might want to try.

Although this restaurant was near the NJPAC the food was just fair. We had salmon which was good but the snapper just ok and chicken Marsala was not edible. What a shame. We will not return.

Limited menu but the convenience of it being so close to NJPAC was great. Our server had trouble taking our order (it’s possible he did not speak English as a first language) but was attentive and sweet. Food was fine, though we just ordered hamburgers.

Service was terrible, steak was well done instead of medium rare and had to be sent back, meat quality was poor. Sides were bland and uninspired. Overall a very poor dining experience.

We chose Medallion for the location and the menu looked decent. We were there for a concert at NJPAC and it was a 3 minute walk to the venue. It went downhill from there. The person seating us made a comment about us being late (15 minutes, after driving 30+ miles on a dreary rainy evening) and looked to seat the next reservation but wound up seating us right away anyway. Our server who spoke almost no English which doesn't bother me except he could not answer any questions we had about the menu. He was polite but not very attentive. We ordered 2 appetizers, fried calamari and Brazilian croquettes. I've had better frozen in a box from the supermarket. Only tube sections of calamari that were small & exactly the same size? They were probably pressed from a machine. Four of us ordered steak, the other two had a burger & a chicken dish. The steaks were average at best. I've had better at a Texas Roadhouse chain restaurant. The burger made her feel ill and the chicken dish was dry and not very tasty. Most of us didn't finish not because of large portions but because it wasn't very good. For what they charged for the food we were all disappointed. Also on the check it said 20% 'suggested' tip already included in the bill. Admittedly there was six of us & many restaurants include a tip for six or more guests. We didn't let it ruin our evening, the point was a family night out but the next time we go to NJPAC we won't be dining at Medallion.

Had reservations for a Saturday night and we were greeted and seated promptly. Glasses of water and drinks were provided promptly. Menu was very limited compared to what is shown online. Food was, at best, mediocre. Fried calamari was chewy and a little fishy, chicken was incredibly dry. Steak was ok. Everything came with beans and rice. Chips were served instead of bread, which were tasty even if some were really chewy. Waiter disappeared, so there were no refills on water or drinks. We had a show to catch, so we didn’t bother to try to flag someone down for dessert and instead got someone to get us our check. Never saw the waiter again. I would not come here again. For what it cost it just wasn’t worth it.

While the food, service, and ambiance were generally good, the restaurant had inexpmicably instituted a very limited menu on the evening of our visit. When researching a restaurant local to the NJPAC, this place drew our attention specifically for its offerings. Our party of five had all reviewed the menu before agreeing on this restaurant, so it was unfortunate that not one of us was able to order our previously selected dinners. Additionally, the at table prices on the menus were significantly higher than those on their downloadable menu, and while having a "prices subject to change without notice" disclaimer, it seems silly to me in this day and age that you wouldn't update your online menu when you make price changes. With a final cost of nearly $400 with a generous tip, it was a little underwhemling. I would call ahead to make sure they are offering their full menu. Otherwise your choices are significantly curtailed and you may not be able to order what you were wanting.
