The Tavern Underground, the lower level of The Carlin, introduces a tastefully designed, modern-meets-casual take on classic American tavern culture.

We offer limited reservation availability up to 8pm, along with bar seating and tables that are always available first come, first serve. If you're not finding a reservation or have a special request, please call us for assistance, 970-771-3795.

                                Didn’t get to rank food or drink due to service. Arrived early for reservation and waited 17 minutes after being seated with no service - no drink or food orders. There were two other tables with patrons inside, so it was not busy. Wanted to get our evening moving and didn’t feel like we needed to seek out service at a relatively nice establishment with a reservation so we chose to leave. Manager called after to apologize, so that part was nice.

                                There were no available tables indoors so they sat us outside. We were the only diners outside so the wait staff did not come by on a regular basis. Our waiter was fantastic though when he did visit us. Food & drink was decent but seemed a bit over priced. To be expected for a resort town.

                                Bartender was rude. Never got one of the appetizers. One guest only received his meal 15 min before the rest of us..seated ny an open door and had to wear jacketals..will not recomend

                                Quality all around. This is a cool speak easy like restaurant. The manager who built the menu did a superb job. If you have a Gluten Free allergy, you picked the right place to eat. The quality and variety of food is great. Jalapeño hush puppies, crab claws, fish and chips, fried chicken sandwich and shrimp po boy were our feast. Best all around dinner we had as a family. If you are a bourbon drinker, this is the best selection in town. Manager is very knowledgeable and has brought in an awesome selection. Service was stellar.

                                We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks! And our waitress was awesome, I wish I could remember her name. Unexpected bonus was half priced entrees and specialty cocktails the night we were in there!

                                Everyone’s food was great! I had the crab cakes and they were all crab meat , not a lot of breading like some places have. Sam our server was friendly and helpful!

                                This was a nice little place secluded away from everyone. The service was great; but, we were definitely shocked at the price for the quality of food. There are many great places in Breck that have better food for the cost or even less. It’d be great to go have an appetizer and maybe a drink.

                                The Tavern Underground is a cool space in which to enjoy a nice drink and maybe a couple of (mostly very salty fatty) appetizers. It's got a livery vibrant atmosphere and the staff are really nice. But the food is really limited to heavy/deep fried/stodgy choices. Unfortunately the one thing that seems higher, the hummus plate, was not available (a weird thing to run out of). However, if you like things such as fried chicken bites with lots of fried exterior, very very creamy buffalo chicken dip and deep fried shrimp with creamy sauce, then you'll be happy. For junk food, it's actually nice tasting etc. Just not my personal vibe. I'd go back for a drink, but that's about it.
