Tavi is an Israeli restaurant serving made-to-order pita from a wood-fired oven, elaborately finished hummus plates, and small and large plates drawing from the same modern Israeli inspiration as its sister restaurant, Shaya. The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community. The menu will highlight staples from the Shaya menu plus an array of small plates, hummus, sandwiches, and slow-roasted meats.

Most of the food we ordered was absolutely fabulous. The small plates were amazing. All of the hummus dishes are delicious. The fried chicken hummus was the best, definitely recommend ordering it when visiting. I ordered the shrimp skewers with Moroccan couscous, and it very much left something to be desired. 4 shrimp on a skewer and a spicy tomato sauce with nothing else. The couscous was like sand. I actually thought they had forgotten to bring me something when they put my plate in front of me. Another person at the table ordered the same thing and thought the same thing that I did. A little disappointed. I would definitely not order that again. I left hungry after spending $200 on food & tip. I would definitely return but next time I would do all appetizers and small plates.

They have good vegan and gluten free options. That was very helpful. Food and atmosphere were wonderful! Service also great!

We are regulars at Tavi. We love going for the happy hour because it is usually less crowded and it’s such a bargain. The food is delicious. The service is always pleasant and professional. All of the staff are friendly and attentive without being hovering. The fact that this restaurant is open seven days a week is a real plus.

Overall, it was a great dining experience. The hostess seemed a little despondent. I suspect there was very little coordination with the servers. We sat for approximately 15 minutes before a server noticed no one had taken our order yet. However, Andrea took notice and apologized for the wait. She did an excellent job taking care of us through the meal. Because of her and the great food, we will be back.

Tia was once again a great experience. Love the ambiance, the waiter was excellent and the food superb. We had plates to share with the wild mushroom hummus, the Israeli salad and the crispy chicken with rice. All were terrific! Don’t hesitate to book a table!

Food was excellent, especially the wild mushroom hummus. Bar made very good cocktails. Service by our waiter, Mark, was outstanding; he was very attentive and friendly and took great care if us.

Everything was great, dined on the patio. The only complaint I have was there was so many flies. I’m not sure if there is some kind of deterrent that could be used.
