Ever since Tops Diner was established in 1942, our focus has always been to serve what our customers want, exactly when and how they want it. As the American dining culture shifts, we recognize we must strive to recreate the 1920’s renaissance that birthed the diner as we know it today, all the while preserving the historical and cultural identity that made Tops Diner the model all others hope to emulate.

By constantly evolving, we ensure our ability to provide a diverse menu of high quality options with the speed of service we’ve all become accustomed to, providing the uniquely satisfying experience synonymous with the Tops Diner name. Our hope is that we can grow as our clients do, and continue to serve both our Newark family, and our community at large.

    Host was great! Service was great! Food was great! Restroom was clean and smells good! They don’t answer the calls though so don’t bother calling.

    Our expectations were high with the number of great food reviews and Tops did not disappoint! Food was fantastic! Server knew the menu well, the venue looked great, and portions were generous. While the restaurant and parking lot were very clean and safe, the surrounding buildings have broken windows, etc. it is a diamond in the rough. Be prepared for takeout boxes, especially if you’re saving room for their wonderful desserts (which you really should try!). If we didn’t live a few hundred miles away, we’d definitely frequent to try more of the menu.

    This was my first time there. This place came highly recommended by friends and family. Our waiter was the best. Sorry I can’t remember his name. He was the best from beginning to end. Will definitely come back again. I live in Brooklyn,NY, but I will find my way back soon. 🥰🥰🥰

    I go because I know it will be great...every single time. They are consistently excellent. There are not too many places that are consistent. Pete my waiter is always amazing! I hope i got his name correct.
