   Great food! One of the best spinach artichoke dips I’ve ever had. Everything was good. Cute restaurant, it feels like an old house. Wonderful cocktails too.

   For the prices expected the ambiance was not as it should have been. No table cloths or proper linens, too cold AC and very loud. Food mediocre, service was poor. Wine served late and no bread for the table. All in all not what we expected. Won’t go back.

   We enjoyed the deviled crab dip appetizer and bourbon glazed Brussels sprouts. The boned in ribeye was a bit dry, as was the pork chop. The service was good but not excellent for the price point. We were celebrating a birthday but they did not comp the dessert for that person. Glad we tried it once, but we will not return. There are too many other choices.

   Peggy's is the finest restaurant in Boerne. The food is always excellent and consistent. The service is impeccable. It is situated in a beautiful building at the end of the Kendall Inn.

   I had high expectations for this restaurant, especially knowing that Chef Mark Bohanon was behind it. I’m a huge fan of Mark and Bohanan’s in San Antonio — hands down my favorite steakhouse, where I’ve dined well over 100 times. That said, this experience in Boerne was disappointing. I expected a more upscale atmosphere, but it was surprising (and honestly a little disheartening) to see many guests in shorts and flip-flops. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, or maybe I just expect a certain dress code when dining somewhere special — either way, it took away from the experience, especially after making the 45 minute drive from San Antonio. Now, the food itself was very good. My steak was excellent, and my guest loved her salmon — the kitchen was accommodating with her request for a special sauce, which she raved about. The crowd was lively but not overwhelming, which was nice. However, the service really missed the mark. The biscuits weren’t what was described on the menu. They brought out my steak without a steak knife — just a butter knife, which made it a challenge. Steaks this good deserve the right tools. Our waiter disappeared for long stretches, and by the time my glass of wine finally arrived, I only had three bites of steak left. One noticeable difference between this location and the original Bohanan’s was the staff — they all appeared very young, likely high school or college-aged, and it showed in the service. Not once did a manager check on us. Given the experience, it feels like the pricing should reflect a smaller-town vibe rather than big-city fine dining. The bar itself was beautiful with a local guy playing some music on his guitar, but the drink prices were definitely on the high side. Bottom line: the steaks are still great — but not great enough to overlook the service and casual atmosphere. If you're expecting the true Bohanan’s 5-star experience, you may want to stick with San Antonio.

   Despite the obnoxiously loud table near us, we enjoyed a great meal. American wagyu beef was exceptional.

   Four of us ate and each enjoyed our meals. The service was very good. The ambience is plain as the room is probably also used as the hotel breakfast room. Table clothes would help spiff up the room for dinner service. Although the restaurant is on the pricey side, I recommend this restaurant and we will go back again.

   Nice meal. Good waiter and enthusiastic bussing staff. Receptionists (3) could learn a bit more about hospitality.

    We have been coming to Peggy’s for a few years now for date nights and have always loved it. However they recently changed the meat they’re serving and the way it’s cooked it seems and unfortunately that has lost us. Service was great but the steaks had a burnt taste as well as just not being a good cut of meat. (this is the second time we have had the same opinion and we returned hoping we just went on a bad night last time) We still love the restaurant but will be considering it as a lunch spot in the future instead of spending our rare dinner date here due to the quality of the steaks. The quail appetizer is still great as well as the cheesy mashed potatoes. Hopefully the meat makes a come back in the future.
