   Red Board has long been one of our favorite local spots. I’ve recommended it countless times on the BCS Meals and Deals Facebook group and was proud to suggest it again this year for our Mother’s Day celebration. Unfortunately, this visit was deeply disappointing, especially given how significant the day was for my family. This year’s Mother’s Day was especially meaningful — a final gathering of sorts. My bonus mom was moving to Ohio just days later to be closer to family for care, and I myself am currently battling Stage 4 colon cancer. We knew this might be our last chance to sit at a table together. I made our reservation about 10 days in advance, hoping for a smooth and memorable evening. From the moment we arrived, things were off. The staff, though kind, seemed inexperienced and unsure. We waited while they figured out how to handle our reservation, which included having to piece together tables last minute. Once seated, we were quickly told that many menu items — chicken fried steak, cornbread, mashed potatoes, steak frites, pasta, and the Reuben, among others — were all unavailable. On Mother’s Day. A day that restaurants should anticipate and prepare for well in advance. We ended up ordering three baked potatoes topped with beef — a meal that hardly justifies a reservation, let alone a special occasion. I also had to return my tea due to a strong coffee aftertaste, likely from being brewed in a pot used for coffee. What was most frustrating, though, was the absence of a manager on duty. The young staff did what they could — special shoutout to Alex, whose enthusiasm and effort did not go unnoticed — but they were clearly left without the support or leadership they needed to succeed on one of the busiest dining days of the year. I tried calling the restaurant the following Monday to express my concerns but received no response. This wasn’t just a disappointing meal. It was a missed moment we’ll never get back.    Horrible experience. Had a reservation at 7pm and at 850 when food had still not arrived we left. Restaurant was not particularly busy so there did not seem to be a reason. Wait staff was kind and tried to keep us happy during the unreasonable wait but it was overall a 0 stars. Been there twice before and this was unacceptable. Will not be recommending or be back which is sad so little DT Navasota. All this on Mothers Day weekend.

   Service was horribly slow, took 25 minutes to get bar drink that was very bland and sat at bar for 15 minutes before getting delivered. 50 minutes to get food order. Appetizer was not what was expected, green beans were frozen, mashed potatoes were cold. Chicken breast was hot and very good. Sea bass dish was good. Waitress was less than friendly. Sadly, this was our first and probably last time to dine here.

   The restaurant is too noisy for "fine dining." The food was "okay". Nothing that was over the top, or exceptional. The menu was limited to a brunch menu. Blah! Cocktails were a bunch of "breakfast" cocktails and so were, basically, effeminate drinks, Mimosas, weak weak weak martinis. The very charming waitress was very attentive, but needs to learn to watch the signs. When the guests are conversing and menus are open, they're discussing what to eat. When they start to close their menus, they've made a selection. Desert was outstanding.

   Our waitress was very attentive and helpful! Unfortunately numerous items that we were trying to order, they were out of or no longer serve those items. The food that we got was good, but slightly over priced. Overall, we were disappointed and will probably look for another place to meet our friends from Houston. The service was great!

   We had a lovely evening. Hadn’t been in a while, but a gift certificate purchased at a local fundraiser got me back! Cocktails, appetizers, entrees and desserts were all great.

   Ate here with my folks and the food was truly delicious. waitress was stupendous. steak was perfectly cooked. wedge salad and the qual appetizer were two of the best i’ve had.

   Overall a good spot for some good chef created dishes. Execution on food wasn't perfect this time but service was good and they took care of us. It was a slow Wednesday and food and service met expectations.

   Nice place just over priced. No reason 4 people have to go to dinner and cost $300 with tip No appetizers, just entrees and bottle of wine

    First experience here was for lunch. Portions were decent size, everything came out of the kitchen hot and service was attentive. We four first timers liked it.
