Established in 2010, Thimble Island Brewing Company was founded by Justin Gargano and Mike Fawcett; two friends and homebrewers who shared a desire to make great beer for their local community.

The brewery is located in Branford CT. It is named after the largest group of islands in Connecticut, the Thimble Islands, located off the coast of Branford. Tour boat captains have claimed that there are “three hundred and sixty-five of them-one for every day of the year.” The first settlers bought land from the area’s Native peoples and established Branford, where Lobstermen and commercial fishermen found a profitable harvest in their waters. Today, there are several different ferry and tour boats that leave the town dock to take you from island to island, but they all tell the same stories of people and events that were told nearly 50 years ago. Wherever you have the pleasure of enjoying a Thimble beer let it transport you to a place where the sun meets the crisp sea air.

A great place for good local beer, they have a wide selection of beers too. The steak bomb was excellent and served with hot and crisp French fries, a fun place to go, have a beer and have delicious food. It is a little loud and noisy but that is to be expected for a brewpub

Well my reservation was pointless. Turns out it was Octoberfest and they were not reserving tables. Why they allowed me to make a res i dont know. Anyway there was room and it was fun.

We started with a tour which was very interesting, and made you want a beer even more! The selection of beers were excellent, and the Ghost DIPA was so good that I got a growler refill! My wife enjoyed the Sea Mist as it was a little less intense which she enjoys. We both got burgers which were locally sourced and they were also excellent. We all enjoyed the visit and will be returning!

Even though the brewery is in an industrial park, it’s quiet and a pleasant place to spend a warm and sunny afternoon.
