You’ve never seen anything like this extravagantly decorated tiki-bar funhouse from Tatsu
Aikawa and the team behind Ramen Tatsu-Ya, Kemuri Tatsu-Ya and dipdipdip Tatsu-Ya.

Recently named one of the 40 best bars in Austin by Statesman critic Matthew Odam, Tiki
Tatsu-Ya is disguised by a fake travel company on the outside, but stepping in, you’re
immediately transported to another world. The riotous colors, sound effects and over-the-top
tropical cocktails in custom mugs and glasses feel like an island vacation or 21+ Disneyland.
Shareable drinks come with fire shows, and even the food far surpasses typical bar fare with
mouthwatering dishes like Spam Musubi, Crab Lagoon, Kalua Pork and the Pu Pu Platter, which
shouldn’t be missed. Reservations are recommended.

The restaurant got rid of their 2 hour reservation limit for a table which caused our 6:15 reservation to be a 7:00 reservation. We had to wait 45mins for a table when we had a reservation. The point of a reservation is so you don’t have to wait. The host told us there was nothing that could be done until the group sitting at our table left. That the “higher up” are the ones who took away the 2hr table limit. We have been here several other times and were always made to leave at the 2hr mark. We were bring out of town guests here as a fun evening. Very disappointing. Food is ok and extremely small servings for the price. The atmosphere is fun so you are basically paying and waiting for that.

Food was limited but the drinks and atmosphere were incredible. Our server was not great and forgot drink orders and even part of the food order. The kitchen was also super slow and they ended up comping some of our food. Even with that said, we had a really fun time.

I do wish there were more options on the food menu. I’d love to see a pork or spam fried rice with pineapple or a more hearty option or two. Over still outstanding.

Food was not well seasoned. Sounded interesting, but didn't live up to the descriptions. Wanted the pupu and don't eat octopus, and the only substitute they'd offer is more taro tots. ?? Bad management. Server was quite poor. Didn't check on us, said, "that one's pretty good" on a couple of my selections (does that mean it's good or something I'm about to regret ordering), and had no recommendations. People who brought out food didn't know what they were delivering. All in all a poor performance. I won't go back for food again.

Best tiki bar ever been to. Best tiki food Ove ever had too. The smoked spam sushi was better than hawaii. What a great time.

Cocktails are good, served in pretty nice cups. Food is very average. Small plates. Overall food and drinks are overpriced. Good place to visit once in a lifetime.

We reserved a table and didn’t even get to sit at one. They were overbooked so they placed us at a bar….
