Michelin-starred Le Jardinier is a unique and refined restaurant from Michelin-starred Chef Alain Verzeroli located in The Museum of Fine Arts Houston.

Rooted in timeless French approach, Chef Verzeroli has created a menu where plants play a prominent role: seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, and greens are complemented by wild and sustainable fish with local Texas meats. All our breads are gluten-free and baked in house.

Le Jardinier's light-filled space will evoke a feeling of relaxed-luxury and incorporate custom art pieces with outdoor dining set within an Isamu Noguchi-designed sculpture garden. In 2024, Le Jardinier was awarded one Michelin Star at Texas' Inaugural Michelin Guide.

What a wonderful experience. I have nothing but good things to say about Le Jardinier from the food to the atmosphere to the service. It was wonderful all the way around. My only critique was with the squid ink shellfish ravioli. The ravioli itself was wonderful, but the sauce it was served atop was not a flavor particularly enjoyed. I think a little more of a savory addition to the sauce would’ve made the dish more enjoyable in my opinion!

We had high expectations from a Michelin star restaurant. The ambience was great. The cocktails were good, although the server mixed them up and did not know which one was which. This was not our main server. Our main server, Robin, was great, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the summer tasting menu, which was a five course meal. The breads were delicious, followed corn veloute served with popcorn. The veloutte was a little salty. A drop of Madras curry oil was a great touch. This was followed by lobster salad with heirloom tomatoes, avocados, and peaches. The ingredients were very fresh, but the dressing was just oil and balsamic vinegar drizzled. We expected more. A fresh lemon vinaigrette what happen a fantastic touch. This was followed by a grilled turbot and the fish was perfectly cooked. The sauce, however, was mediocre with tomatoes, capers, and olive oil all raw. After that was beef Wellington. This was really good. It was served with mashed potatoes, but they were a little gummy. We were told it was served with welted greens, but it tasted like parsley salad. Nice refreshing touch for a summer menu. The final course was dessert, which was some kind of a baked peach inside a macaroon type ring. It was fine, but the peach was very tart. The ice cream was good. The first three courses felt rushed, and the server was not clear on what was served, and how it should be eaten. For example, was the popcorn supposed to be added to the Velloute? The chef never came out to introduce himself or check on us. We had seven drinks, four summer testing menus. And tip for a $1200 tab. We discussed this menu and experience as a family. Would we come back for this meal for $1200? absolutely not. What was lacking was flavors. Also, I’ve been to a few Michelin star restaurants and usually the presentation of food is unique. It was fine like any other fine restaurant but nothing spectacular. Overall, four star experience.

Visiting Le Jardinier was nothing short of a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtfully curated and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious—each dish beautifully balanced in flavor and presented with such care that it felt almost too pretty to eat. I was especially impressed by the plates themselves; the subtle colors and the elegant material added an extra layer of sophistication to the meal. It’s clear that attention to detail extends beyond the menu. The atmosphere was another highlight. Tucked into a beautiful spot within the museum, the restaurant felt calm and refined without being stuffy. There wasn’t too much noise, making it a perfect place to enjoy good conversation along with an exceptional meal. Overall, Le Jardinier is a gem I’d recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Came for brunch. We decided on the spring set menu and wine pairing. The food quality and presentation was fantastic. Wine pairings were well thought out, and the sommelier was very knowledgeable when explaining how the wines would pair with the flavors in each dish. We did have a small issue with my dessert having a component that was burnt. They immediately corrected the mistake, and the manager was very apologetic about the situation. They handled it extremely well, sent a fresh dessert for my husband and I, and a glass of wine each too. Would definitely come back.

There is good reason they have a Michelin star! Everything is spectacular from the manager to the Sommelier, to Luna, our server. The food is artwork that tastes divine and the cocktails and wine list are top notch! It is a true fine dining experience in a posh ,cool environment but it does not feel stuffy or snobby! The ambience is lovely!!!! Love everything about it!
