The food itself at The Lonely Oyster was really great, the portion sizes are nothing to write home about but everything tasted excellent. I was unfortunately a little disappointed with the space. I didn't realize it would be so cramped and loud inside. I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance and noted that I'd love a booth in the bank or a quiet space since I was dining with someone hard of hearing, but upon arriving the host denied us a booth even though there was one open. I don't necessarily blame anyone on the service staff because the space was so small and limited that I understand not all accommodations can be met. It just was then so loud and hard to hear each other as the night went on, we were practically yelling across the small table. So again, I don't want to knock the place because I know not all accommodations can always be met, just something worth noting if someone has a guest who may be hard of hearing. Again, the food itself was great - pretty expensive for what it was, but tasty nonetheless.

Enjoyed the meal, we shared all dishes amongst the four of us. Notably, we enjoyed the brown butter scallops (innovative and delicious), the tomato mozzarella salad, the raw oysters (very fresh), seared salmon was cooked perfectly. The daily special steak was also terrific, but surf part wasn't and the dish was so overpriced in hindsight. Salmon Crudo was not par with the rest of the meal.

Service was so friendly and helpful and food was delicious. Our server picked out an array of different oysters that were awesome and accommodated our dietary restrictions. We also had the salmon appetizer and esquites and both were amazing. Recommend the TLO martini with added oyster and cavi too!

This restaurant is not in a good neighborhood, is not 4 or 5 star, and our bill came out to $414 for 2 people (with tip). We were floored! I would expect that at a 5 star restaurant but not here. The food was generally pretty tasty but not for that price.

Super cute spot for a coastal experience without the arduous drive to the westside. The food was great, and the menu offered something for everybody. Knocked off a star only because the menu wasn’t up to date, and some plates featured spicy components that were lacking a little punch. However, every plate was delicious and highly recommended if you’re into crudos and oysters. Our server was kind and attentive, and made sure we were happy with everything we ordered. She was sweet in asking if a drink I ordered was to my liking as she noticed I took a while finishing it up, a detail that rarely gets noticed at other establishments, and went above and beyond in offering a replacement. The replacement was not accepted because the drink was actually great and I was simply pacing myself but the offer was super thoughtful. Truly a wonderful brunch experience, I will be visiting with friends again.

Three ladies looking for delicious oysters, and boy did we find that and a whole lot more the staff the service the ambience and oh yeah sensational oysters, great lobster roll grilled oysters and that’s just a few of the items that are a 10 I love telling people how good it is. I just hope I can still get in when everyone realizes what a fantastic place this is. Their drinks also rate. There is a handsome Bill at the end of all of this fun it’s OK

The food was excellent but the two of us spent over $250 on dinner and noticed a $5.00 charge for two pieces of toast with butter. Yes, I know some places charge for bread but this wasn’t nice bread with salted butter. Especially since my entree — consisting of two scallops — had a lot of sauce yet wasn’t served with anything (not even a spoon) with which to consume the sauce. The sauce was exquisite- what a waste to just eat the two scallops without something (like *included* bread) to enjoy it. Also, the tables for two were so close together.

This place has mediocre food, not much atmosphere and really high prices. They don't offer a printed list for oysters and beware because when I got the check the ones that were recommended by our server were $6 A PIECE. Courses were not timed out so the dishes were spilling off the table and we felt rushed. They food was fine but nothing special. There are much better restaurants that offer similar menus with really delicious food, nicer ambience AND more reasonable prices. I will not be eating here again.

Made reservations and were seated right away on a Friday. Very professional and friendly...so far so good! My wife and I ordered the 'Louie salad' Excellent very fresh the shrimp and crab, dressing lettuce all first rate. I ordered the fish and chips, fish was great. what looked like homemade tarter sauce was delicious fries/chips were perfect also. My wife had the Brown Butter Scallops. They were cooked to perfection melt in your mouth tasty. Desert consisted of the saltine lemon pie (I think the actual name might be different) with a scoop of Mexican chocolate ice cream. Scrumptious. So nice to have a go to seafood place in the neighborhood where we live. Kind of like Connie and Ted's on the westside with a smaller menu.

Super cute Saturday night dinner! We arrived shortly after 9PM as a party of five and sat in the big pink booths along the window, intimate seating but comfortable enough to order a lot of food lol. Started with the captain tower-the largest of the three(12 delicious oysters on the half, smoked black mussels, chilled mango clams, generous portions of fresh poached lobster+butter, surf and turf tartare, and giant poached shrimp! For our mains we shared the NY strip with asparagus, smashed potatoes and cowboy butter AND the seared tuna chateaubriand, crusted w/ chocolate and porcini. Oh and ice cream made in house. BOMB everything was BOMB. Go.

Both the food and the cocktails were exceptional. The service was decent. My only complaint is that they didn't check in on us enough. Between the cocktail order and the app order was about 20 minutes. The apps were served and there was a 1/2 hour til they asked for our entree order. I appreciated not being bombarded by staff but this was a little less than expected. Overall, awesome experience.
