   I highly recommend reservations for the weekend. The staff and friendly and professional!American cuisine with a modern and well thought out menu. It didn’t disappoint and we always look forward to going back.

   We had a very tasty lunch today. The Steak Sandwich is always one of my favorites, The service impeccable and always great value.

   They offer a special that includes a six-ounce steak served over toasted garlic bread, along with a signature house salad. I asked if I could substitute the salad for a Caesar salad, but was told substitutions weren’t allowed. While I understand set menus, I found it a bit frustrating that a simple change wasn’t possible, even with an upcharge. Because I don't care for the included salad, I opted for the salmon instead, and I’m glad I did—it was absolutely delicious. We noted on our reservation that we were celebrating a special occasion, but unfortunately, it wasn't acknowledged during our visit. It was a bit disappointing, as we were hoping for even a small gesture to help mark the moment.

   Did not live up to prior experiences and not the best Mother’s Day experience. Had a reservation and were seated promptly. We declined sitting next to the kitchen and bathroom and were seated adjacent to the bar, and the egress to the bathroom. Appys took over 40 mins and were cold. Manager stated they would be comped. Asked that entrees be fired after providing time to enjoy appys. They obliged. Three additional people provided service as our waiter had tables in the front of the restaurant to support. The bill included appys and the manager made good in the offer to remove after bringing to his attention. This experience moved this restaurant down on our list.

   Love Nick’s Restaurant. Dishes are unique and so tasty and the restaurant employees are friendly and very professional.

    Nick's is one of my favorites. If I'm in Carlsbad, I'm at Nick's. The food is always top notch, staff is friendly and the facility is always impeccable! I highly recommend this resturant!
