The concept of JOI was born from the idea of bringing popular Southeastern Asian street cuisine for all generations to enjoy and share. Food quality was pretty bad. Thai red curry nothing like Thai. I have lived in Thailand for six years and eaten Thai food all over the world and around US. This was the worst I have tasted.

I was really hoping to like my dining experience more based on what I had seen online, the photos, and some of the reviews of the food. However, I was disappointed from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Our reservation notes were not read, our server was a bit slow in coming to our table throughout the meal despite there being maybe 3 tables sat in the restaurant, he didn’t ask for our drink order until we were putting in our second round of appetizers and we prompted him with asking to order drinks, and lastly, the food was either quite bland or completely burnt. I don’t know if I can confidently recommend this as our tab was almost $100 for two people and it just was a very underwhelming experience.

This was my second time dining here and the experience was okay. Our waiter rarely came to our table to check in. I asked for a ginger ale and he forgot so I had to go up to the bar and remind him. The food quality was OK. Most likely won’t be going back when I visit Austin.

We had a reservation at 12:45 but got seated at 1:30. Appetizers (edamame and 2 slices of tuna sashimi) took 33 minutes to come out. All in all between appetizers and entrees taking so long we weren’t out of there until 3:15. Awful service. The food is good but not worth it for that kind of service. This is the 2nd time the service has been like this so we won’t be back.

Everything was just okay. They didn’t bring soy sauce to the table. Our drinks were never refilled and were empty when the food arrived. We asked three different people. Finally got drink refills 3/4 of the way through the meal. Two of them said “well, it’s Mother’s Day” instead of an apology. Mediocre food. Barely passable service. Better places to dine.

Went for brunch and they were completely out of their $3 brunch champagne bomb. Sat outside waiting for waiter to serve us for 10 minutes when the restaurant was empty. Children running around the play area climbing the wall running across right next our table. Had one drink and went somewhere else.
