    Service was awesome. Fun vibe. Lots of small plates to share so we tried 5 things - scallops, beets, peppers, halibut and chicken. All were very good.

    Food was incredible and our server Ben was super friendly and gave us great recommendations. We also recieved a special menu for our anniversary, which was a nice touch.

    Disappointing experience this time. Took 40 minutes to get the first round and then drinks didn't show up, and the ticket got lost a 2nd time. Half the main courses were sold out by the time our 8pm group got to order - no seafood entrees available at all. Food we did get was good, but when half the menu isn't available at 8pm and it takes 40 minutes for 5 cocktails, it's not a good value for the price.

    This is by far one of the best restaurants in all of San Diego! The food is always a knock-out, so unusual and unique the taste is fresh. We love to sit at the Chef's counter and watch it all happen. We celebrated out anniversay and they so kindly had printed out Happy Anniversary on our menus- so thoughtful. Since we discovered Juniper & Ivy, we agree this is our favorite restaurants and look forward to many more years of celebrations.

    From the time we walked in until the time we left we felt cared for. The service was impeccable and the food was exquisite. We enjoyed all the delicious flavors and combinations of food. We can’t wait to come back.

    Used to be my favorite San Diego restaurant - not so much anymore. We shared several plates and only one was really good. Started with the baked oysters - they tasted as though they weren't fresh at all. Then moved on to the chicken liver mousse which was difficult to eat as we were to spread it on cookies that were too soft and fell apart as soon as you tried to add the mousse. The ratio of mousse to cookies was off too, as we had 1/2 container of the mousse left after eating the 3 cookies that came with the dish. We then shared the uni linguine which was super rich and ok but not great. Service was extremely slow - we waited nearly 1/2 hour after we ordered our first course for any food and 45 minutes after that for anything else to come our way. The air conditioning was also not working properly - the place was really warm and uncomfortable. Not sure what's going on behind the scenes at Juniper & Ivy - certainly not the place it was when Richard Blaise was involved! Too bad and too many new and upcoming restaurants in the San Diego area to any longer think of this place as one of the best.

    Incredible service from the time we walked in and the food was outstanding. We were celebrating our anniversary and at least 6 staff members made a point to wish us a happy anniversary. The red snapper was the best I ever had. We will absolutely be returning!

    This is the fourth time we’ve been to Juniper and Ivy. The menu is always innovative and creative. We usually give the server an overview of what we like and then let them choose the items we receive. It is always fun and exciting to see the items as they arrive. Great choices last night. We had 5 courses each different and enjoyable. Good and attentive service, friendly staff and management. So glad we could eat here again!

    Very good food, prepared promptly with creative and interesting recipes. The menu is moderate in choice, but everything the table ordered was carefully crafted. bites especially were very expensive for the tiny portions, and even the small plates were expensive for the amount of food presented. Although the restaurant encourages sharing, portion sizes were not conducive to splitting around the table. Even the drinks were very small. The noise was moderate with the many hard reflective surfaces not helpful. Service was perfect--attentive without being overbearing.

    As always, the entire experience was perfection. From the server's recommendations on menu selection and wine paring, to the chef's personal attention (we sat at the kitchen counter - our favorite spot in the restaurant), we could not have wished for anything different. We started with halibut handrolls (wrapped in fresh sesame leaves), a very interesting take on "deviled eggs" (egg white meringue, smoked trout, trout roe), and ham and cheese puffs (nothing like you would expect). Then moved on to Carne Cruda Asada Toast (beef tartare, green onion, egg yolk jam), Hokkaido Scallops, Pork Belly. Freshened our palate with the heirloom tomato salad before reaching the climax of our meal with the whole roast duck. Thought we were done, but Chef surprised us with a bonus course of fried whole snapper and all the accoutrements for fish tacos. Best advice: when you go, sit at the kitchen counter and trust the staff to guide you through the experience. Say yes to every suggestion.

    Interesting setup for dining and we were seated in the upper area near the bar with good view of the rest of the restaurant. We loved the food sizes as we could order 5 different dishes without feeling like over eating. The prices are on the higher side but the quality is good.

    The food was incredible but the service was the standout feature for us. We went for a birthday and the menus were customized with "happy birthday ___" written on them. The hostess, server, and a manager came over to wish him happy birthday and provided a small dessert for the occasion. Aside from that, the drinks were tasty and strong. The food was incredibly flavorful and portioned well. We only ordered a few small plates as our meal and it was filling. The sourdough bread is amazing and a must order to start. Overall, wonderful experience and would go back again.

    We sat at the counter. It was so fun to watch the chefs (and the rest of the house) work. The entrees looked phenomenal but I think a better way to go is a bunch of small plates. So good.

    Took forever to get our food. After an hour fifteen we only had our bread order. Ended up canceling our main course after 2 hours as we didn’t want to wait more. We spoke with the manager and they did comp some of our apps and our dessert which was nice. Pretty disappointed and will not be returning.

    The yellow tail with melon was the most surprising, and perfect combo. Delicious! And who would have thought figs would be a good appetizer… soooo good! And paired with the refreshing yet flavorful Wind and Sea cocktail, this dining experience was divine!

    The steak was overcooked and the waiter brought the check when he served the dessert. They kept on coming and asking if they could take our food away while we were still eating. Could be a bit more polished service when you charge 120 for a steak.

    We had a lovely work dinner for 6 and enjoyed every morsel and cocktail. We had an off menu gin cocktail which was divine and included cherry juice. The following day all of my colleagues thanked me for arranging our fine dining experience and said the food was both memorable and one of the best meals they'd ever eaten.
